Mary Ida Brown

Services for Mary Ida Brown, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. Friday,Jan. 2, at St. Mark M.B. Church in Brookhaven with burial inHillcrest Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Thursday from 1 until 7 p.m. at Williams Mortuarywith family present from 6 until 7 p.m.

Miss Brown, 50, died Dec. 30, 2008, at her residence. She wasborn in Independence, La., on March 31, 1958, to Charlie Brown andBertha McNickels Brown.

She was a Brookhaven High School graduate. She was disabled. Shewas a member of St. Mark M.B. Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are a daughter, LaSonya Brown, of Brookhaven; hersisters, Denise Porter and husband, Malcolm, of Bogue Chitto, andEdna Allen and husband, Isaiah, of Brookhaven; her brothers, CarlBrown and wife, Joyce, of Slidell, La., Eli Brown, Marvin Brown andwife, Rosetta, Rodger Brown and wife, Angela, Robert Collins, allof Brookhaven, and Lincoln Collins and wife, Yolanda, ofNorfield.

James Rankin Ratcliff Jr.

Graveside services for James Rankin Ratcliff Jr., of Gulfport,are 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at Rosehill Cemetery in Brookhaven.Riemann Family Funeral Home in Gulfport is in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Ratcliff, 82, died Dec. 28, 2008, in Gulfport.

He was in the field of commercial construction and served as aforeman for M.Campbell Co. in New Mexico and was also an employeeof B.C. Rogers Construction. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WorldWar II.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Margaret Ratcliff; asister, Hattie Parker; and his brothers, Lenox and NedRatcliff.

Survivors are a son, James R. Ratcliff III; his siblings,Christina Dobbs, Mel Ratcliff and Minnie Newel; and his twograndchildren.

Bernard Wallace

Services for Bernard Wallace, of Bogue Chitto, are 11 a.m.Friday, Jan. 2, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on Natchez Drivewith burial in Arlington Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral homeon Natchez Drive.

Mr. Wallace, 79, died Dec. 30, 2008, at his residence. He wasborn in Bogue Chitto on July 13, 1929, to Zack Wallace and BertBrown Wallace.

He was an oil field worker. He served in the U.S. Marines. Hewas of the Baptist faith.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Linda Wallace, of Bogue Chitto; a son,Conley Wallace, of Houma, La.; his stepsons, Barney Russell Jr. andLawrence Russell, both of Bogue Chitto; a daughter, Jill Loupe andhusband, Michael, of Houma; his sisters, Bernice Adams, of BogueChitto, and Jewel Faye Case, of McCall Creek; his threegrandchildren; and his two great-grandchildren.
