Dolph P. Evans

Mr. Dolph P. Evans departed from this world on Monday, Jan. 5,2009, and now walks the streets of gold with our Lord and Savior.He was born on Feb. 11, 1920, and was 88 years old. He was a nativeof Brookhaven and a resident of Metairie, La.

Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, at Brookhaven FuneralHome, 230 North Jackson St., from 10 a.m. until religious servicesat 1 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will followat Byrd’s Chapel Cemetery in Meadville. The Rev. Danny Flanagan andthe Rev. Kevin Malcomb will officiate.

Mr. Evans was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfatherand was a “Good Samaritan” to everyone. He was a World War II U.S.Marine veteran and a 32nd degree Mason having been a member of theSquare and Compass Lodge No. 417, F.&A.M. of Kenner, La., since1953.

He was retired from his business, Evans Welding Inc. He was alsoan offshore inspector for years. He was a faithful member of FirstAssembly of God in Metairie.

Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his parents; Prentiss andEula Evans; his wife, Janice McManus Evans; his son, Kenny Evans;and a brother and two sisters.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and JoyceEvans and Gene and Patricia Evans, all of Livingston, La.; adaughter-in-law, Gayle Evans, of Metairie; his eight grandchildren;his five great-grandchildren; and his two brothers, Denver andDenson Evans, of Baton Rouge, La.
