Almon Brister

Services for Almon Brister, of Brookhaven, are 1 p.m. Thursday,Jan. 22, at Southway Baptist Church in Brookhaven with burial inMt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at BrookhavenFuneral Home on Natchez Drive and Thursday from noon until 1 p.m.at the church.

Mr. Brister, 80, died Jan. 19, 2009, at his residence. He wasborn in Lincoln County on April 3, 1928, to Buddy Brister andFannie Bullock Brister.

He was retired from general maintenance at General Motors. Heserved in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Southway BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Hazel Meenach Brister, of Brookhaven; ason, Lyndell “Dale” Brister and wife, Karanita, of Brookhaven; hisstepsons, Jerry Keeton and Johnathan Keeton; his sisters, LydiaAllen, of Baton Rouge, La., and Arlo Miller, of Loveland, Colo.;his two grandchildren, Kayla Brister and Cody Brister; his 11stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Thelma Alice Allred Stewart

Services for Thelma Alice Allred Stewart, of Bogue Chitto, were11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Riverwood Family Funeral ServiceChapel with burial in Mt. Olive Church of Christ Cemetery. Bro.Wendell Davis officiated services.

Mrs. Stewart, 81, died Jan. 19, 2009, at her residence. She wasborn on Jan. 31, 1927, to Grafton Allred and Beatrice ThetfordAllred.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Loyd Hall HomemakersClub. She was a member of Mt. Olive Church of Christ.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband,Charles Stewart.

Survivors are a son, Russell “Rusty” Bennie Stewart and wife,Joan, of Grenada; a daughter, Alice Rebecca “Becky” Burt andhusband, Dale, of Brookhaven; her sisters, Beryl Beatrice “B.B.”Watts and Myrtle Josie McGee, both of Brookhaven; hersisters-in-law, Louise Cato, Lucille Stewart and Peggy Smith; abrother-in-law, Carroll Watts; her five grandchildren, Brad Burtand wife, Jane, of Brookhaven, Allison Burt Graham and husband,Doug, of Philadelphia, Camille, Ben and Samuel Stewart, of Grenada;her five great-grandchildren, Nikki Burt, Abigail Graham, JakeSmith, Trevor and Hannah Davis; and a host of nieces andnephews.

Pallbearers are Shane Stewart, Mark Mathis, Gerald McGee, DannyWatts, Danny Ray Boyd and Darryl Jordan.

Honorary pallbearers are Brad Burt, Ben Stewart, Samuel Stewart,Jake Smith, Trevor Davis and Doug Graham.

Music will be provided by Joyce Wilson.

Wilma Darlene Stuart

Services for Wilma Darlene Stuart, of Brookhaven and formerly ofVandalia, Mo., are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Waters FuneralChapel in Vandalia with burial in Evergreen Memorial GardensCemetery in Vandalia. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of localarrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home inMissouri.

Mrs. Stuart, 93, died Jan. 19, 2009, at Haven Hall Health CareCenter in Brookhaven. She was born in Ashley, Mo., on Aug. 28,1915, to Bernard Luebbers and Luella Thompson Luebbers Ebers.

She was a retired seamstress and a homemaker. She was a memberof the Red Hat Society, Vandalia Garden Club and the Senior CitizenCard Club. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish CatholicChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, EdwinStuart.

Survivors are a son, Edwin Gale Stuart, of Foristell, Mo.; adaughter, Jean Stuart Elliott, of Brookhaven; a brother, ThomasEbers, of Kansas City, Mo.; and her five grandchildren; MichaelElliot, of Wesson, Mark Elliot, of Richland, Wash., Joe Elliot, ofBogue Chitto, Jill Curtis, of Wright City, Mo., and Kelly Stuart;and her seven great-grandchildren.
