Prescott Alden ‘Peck’ Sherman
Services for Prescott Alden “Peck” Sherman, of McComb, are 11a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Centenary United Methodist Church withburial in Hollywood Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Hartman-SharkeyFuneral Home in McComb and Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m. at thechurch.
Mr. Sherman, 93, died Jan. 19, 2009, at Aston Court RetirementCenter. He was born in McComb on May 12, 1915, to Carleton FarrarSherman and Pearl Wood.
Mr. Sherman spent the majority of his working years as abuilding contractor and real estate developer. He attendedSouthwest Mississippi Community College and the University ofMississippi, working four jobs in order to afford his collegeeducation. In 1938, he received a bachelor’s degree in civilengineering from Ole Miss. Mr. Sherman then went to work with a NewYork based architectural and engineering firm. During World War II,he served with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers in the British WestIndies and India. Upon returning to his home, he opened the ShermanConstruction Company.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, BettyWest Sherman; his second wife, Mildred Ramsay Sherman; agrandchild; and his five siblings, Julia, Carleton, Lincoln, Warrenand Harold Sherman.
Survivors are a daughter, Betsy S. Shelton; and his twograndchildren; and his numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Paul ‘Dennis’ Windmiller
Memorial services for Paul “Dennis” Windmiller, of Brookhaven,are 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Riverwood Family Funeral ServiceChapel.
Visitation is Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Windmiller, 57, died Jan. 14, 2009, in Galveston, Texas. Hewas born on July 6, 1951, to Paul Henry Windmiller and MarjorieEckert Windmiller.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, MichaelWindmiller, David Windmiller and Brett Windmiller; and a nephew,Gary Hughes II.
Survivors are his daughters, Tara Windmiller, Stacy WindmillerMoreno and husband, Bobby, and Amanda Windmiller, all of Galveston;his sisters, Marcia Gould, of Hannibal, Mo., Maggie Watson andhusband, Steve, of Bayou Vista, Texas, Mary Ethridge, ofBrookhaven, Margie Lilly and husband, Steve, of Bogue Chitto; hishonorary sisters, Patt Blackwell and Melody Roberts; his threegrandchildren, Amy, Reanna and Clorissa; his nephews, Mark Brown,Paul Windmiller, Spencer Hughes, Chris Ethridge and Cole Lilly; hisnieces, Cathy Carlisle, Alisha Windmiller, Jenna Wall, SamanthaLilly and Solame’ Brown.
