Services for Charles Cecil Boyd, of Ruth, are 10 a.m. Saturday,Jan. 31, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel with burial inRuth Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Boyd, 65, died Jan. 28, 2009, at Mississippi Baptist MedicalCenter in Jackson. He was born on March 9, 1943, to Charles C. Boydand Nellie Rushing Freeman.

He was a retired from Illinois Central Railroad. He served inthe U.S. Army National Guard. He was a member of First BaptistChurch in McComb.

Preceding him in death were his father; and his wife, ConnieBoyd.

Survivors are his mother; a son, Cecil G. Boyd and wife, Pamela,of Tupelo; a daughter, Veronica S. Boyd, of Ruth; a brother, JerryBoyd and wife, Judy, of Ruth; a sister, Catherine White andhusband, Bobby, of Ruth; and his three grandchildren, Tyler C.Boyd, Charles T. Boyd and Karriss Boyd, all from Tupelo.
