Graveside services for Melma B. May, of Chicago, Ill., are 2p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Topisaw Church Cemetery in Ruth.
Visitation is Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m. at R.E. Tyler FuneralHome.
Mrs. May, 87, died Jan. 20, 2009, at Advocate Trinity Hospitalin Chicago. She was born in Pike County on Aug. 20, 1921, to PrimCayton and Rachel Cayton.
She was a retired sewing machine operator. She was a member ofGreater Union Baptist Church in Chicago.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Jessie W.May; a child, Mary; her five siblings, Cleophus Cayton, BusterCayton, Thelma Harris, Nelson Cayton and Annett Cayton.
Survivors are her sons, John Henry May, of Hazlecrest, Ill.,Prim May, Solemon May, both of Newark, N.J., and James May, ofChicago; her daughters, Doris Robinson, Jessie Collier, both ofChicago, and Juliette Orr, of Chicago; a brother, M.C. Cayton, ofMarkham, Ill.; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren,and great-great-grandchildren.
