Services for Althea Anise Carpenter, of Brookhaven, are 2:30p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, at New Augusta Baptist Church with burial inNew Augusta Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. at thechurch.

Miss Carpenter, 65, died Jan. 31, 2009, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center in Brookhaven. She was born in New Augusta on Aug.25, 1943, to Ben Carpenter and Elena Ammons Carpenter.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Bobby H.Carpenter; and a sister, Hazel Faye Carpenter Korn.

Survivors are her brothers, Ben Dewitt Carpenter, of Fairbanks,Alaska, and John H. Carpenter of Winter Haven, Fla.; her sisters,Doris Nell Carpenter Terry, of Byram, Ouida W. Carpenter Tompkins,of Bossier City, La., and Mary Catherine Carpenter Buckels, ofMcCall Creek; and numerous nephews and nieces.
