Congressman to keep local office hours

Mississippi Congressman Gregg Harper plans to keep in closecontact with his Lincoln County constituents over the next twoyears by maintaining an office in Brookhaven.
Evan Gardner, Harper’s field representative, will run the officeon 230 South Whitworth Ave. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the second andfourth Wednesdays of every month, continuing a 12-year tradition ofconnecting Brookhaven to Washington, D.C., practiced by former Rep.Chip Pickering, who left office in January.
Gardner will begin keeping office hours Wednesday morning.
“I’m just looking for constituents’ needs,” he said. “Whateverthey might need – help from the congressman, or just to talk tosomebody – I’ll be there.”
Gardner will be prepared to meet and hear the concerns ofconstituents from Lincoln and all the counties of SouthwestMississippi’s portion of the 3rd Congressional District. He willalso travel around the district to hold meetings in otherlocations.
Harper’s other offices are located in Meridian, Pearl andStarkville. Adam Buckalew, Harper’s communications director, saidthe Brookhaven office will be maintained specifically forconstituents in the southwest corner of the district.
“Congressman Harper is concerned about having the bestconstituent services in Congress,” Buckalew said. “We’re going tobe here, so come on by.”
