BAY ST. LOUIS – The St. Stanislaus Rock-A-Chaws eliminated theBrookhaven Panthers by a score of 39-36 Tuesday night in the firstround of the Class 4A South basketball playoffs. A buzzer-beatingtrey from half-court by Pedro Maciel won the game.

The Panthers, under Coach Ronald Hines, finished the season witha 12-13 record. They had tied the game at 36-all with 4.1 secondsleft to play on a free throw

Powering St. Stanislaus (27-3) with 11 points was ThomasCamargo. Daniel Grieves netted 10.

“We played hard and our kids had a chance to win it,” saidHines. “We got off to a slow start. They had a band playing behindour bench and it was really loud.”

Brookhaven got 8 points from Frederick Fairman. Following with 7points was Donaldmetric Blue.
