Services for Pearline Brewer, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. Sunday,Feb. 22, at R.E. Tyler Funeral Home Chapel with burial in CarverHeights Cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday from noon until 5 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Brewer, 87, died Feb. 17, 2009, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter in Brookhaven. She was born in Jackson on Dec. 25, 1921, toWillis Cheeks and Janie Cheeks.

She was a nurse at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center inJackson. She was a member of Della Green M.B. Church inBrookhaven.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, LutherBrewer; her brothers, Jim Forest and Eugene Brown; her sisters,Amanda Thomas and Anna Tyler; and a grandchild.

Survivors are her sons, James Crump Sr., of Jackson, and AlexBrewer, of Brookhaven; a daughter, Barbara Brewer, of Hazlehurst; asister, Mary Irvin, of Jackson; her 17 grandchildren; her 32great-grandchildren; and her three great-great-grandchildren.

Joyce M. Gardner Hutson

Services for Joyce M. Gardner Hutson, of Summit, are 3 p.m.Friday, Feb. 20, at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home Chapel in McCombwith burial in Pike Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Hutson, 64, died Feb. 18, 2009, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. She was born in McComb on July13, 1944, to Glenwood Montgomery and Julia Carlisle Montgomery.

She was an assistant elementary teacher.

Preceding her in death were her father; her first husband,Reggie Gardner; her second husband, Larry Hutson; and a sister,Patsy Erwin.

Survivors are her mother; a son, Brad Gardner, of Summit; adaughter, Gay McElroy, of Monticello; a stepson, Lee Hutson, ofClinton; a stepdaughter, Amanda Bowers, of Summit; a brother, BobbyMontgomery, of Summit; her sisters, Sandra Mangrum and LindaHarrell, all of Summit; her three grandchildren; and numerousnieces, nephews and close friends.

Earnestine ‘Aunt Teen’ Kees

Services for Earnestine “Aunt Teen” Kees, of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Jericho Church of Christ in the LoydStar community with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 7 p.m. at Williams Mortuarywith family present from 6 until 7 p.m.

Miss Kees, 75, died Feb. 14, 2009, at Haven Hall Health CareCenter in Brookhaven. She was born in Lincoln County on July 11,1933, to Harry Kees and Audrey Kelly Kees.

She was a Mississippi School for the Blind graduate. Miss Keeswas a retired store operator. She was a member of Jericho Church ofChrist.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her sisters, JosieHarris, Ollie Kees, Carrie Mae Kees; her brothers, Roscoe Kees,Louis Kees, Will Kees, Willie Kees, John Kees, Harry Kees Jr., FredKees and Paul Kees.

Survivors are her brothers, Houston Kees and wife, Carrie andAlton Kees and wife, Hazel, all of Brookhaven; a devoted niece,Mary Magee, of Sontag; and a host of nieces, nephews, otherrelatives and friends.

Willie ‘Bobby’ Smith

Services for Willie “Bobby” Smith, of Kansas City, Mo., are noonSaturday, Feb. 21, at Zion Chapel Church of God in Christ in Boltonwith burial in Garden Memorial Park in Jackson.

Visitation is Saturday from 8 until 9 a.m. at R.E. Tyler FuneralHome and from 11 a.m. until noon at the church.

Mr. Smith, 74, died Feb. 15, 2009, in Kansas City. He was bornin Brookhaven on Nov. 26, 1934, to Austin P. Smith and NarsissaSmith.

He was a 1955 Alexander High School graduate and a CoahomaJunior College graduate and attended Mississippi VocationalCollege. Mr. Smith was a retired assembly worker for Ford Motor Co.He was a member of Ebenezer AME Church in Kansas City.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Toni; andhis three siblings, Florence Jackson, Lillie Mae Hall and BerniceBradshaw.

Survivors are his daughter, Stephanie Cavett, of Bolton; and agrandson.

William Edward ‘Billy’ Thompson Jr.

Mr. Thompson, 33, died Feb. 17, 2009, in an automobile accidentnear Cocodrie, La. He was born to William Edward Thompson Sr. andJulie Pickering.

Survivors are his father, William Edward Thompson Sr., ofPalatka, Fla.; his mother, Julie Pickering, of Brookhaven; hiswife, Tracy Freeman Thompson, of Church Point; a son, WilliamStanley Thompson, of Church Point; his daughters, Brook Ashlie andMadison Bree Thompson, all of Church Point; his brothers, JodyThompson, of Opelousas, La., and Kerry Pickering, of Brookhaven;and his two sisters, Laura Edwards and Chelsea Pickering, both ofBrookhaven.
