Services for Audrey Noilene DeCorte, of Silver Creek, were 2p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at Crooked Creek Baptist Church in SilverCreek with burial in Cilburn Cemetery. Community Funeral Serviceswas in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. DeCorte, 80, died Feb. 11, 2009, in Silver Creek. She wasborn in Lawrence County on Oct. 28, 1928, to Oscar Bullock and InezLambert Bullock.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Crooked Creek BaptistChurch, but was reared in Antioch Baptist Church in Jayess.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brothers, KentLambert, Elton Bullock and Leroy Button; and her sisters, Fay andQ.T.

Survivors are her husband, Frank J. DeCorte Sr., of SilverCreek; her sons, Frank Jr., Robert and Kenny; her daughters,Sandra, Sylvia and Sonya; a brother, Emmitt Bullock; her 14grandchildren; her 20 great-grandchildren; and her sixgreat-great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Delaughter

Services for Dorothy Delaughter, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Saturday, Feb. 21, at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome on North Jackson Street.

Mrs. Delaughter, 76, died Feb. 18, 2009, at her residence. Shewas born in Brookhaven on May 14, 1932, to Loyd Case and IdellAllen Case.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Macedonia BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, JessE. Delaughter.

Survivors are a son, Jackie Delaughter, of Houston, Texas; hersisters, Janis Case Smith, of Brandon, and Carolyn Case Britt, ofBrookhaven; her two grandchildren; and her twogreat-grandchildren.

Bruce ‘Tobe’ Irvin Sr.

Services for Bruce “Tobe” Irvin Sr., of Columbia, were 1 p.m.Monday, Feb. 16, at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Columbia.

Mr. Irvin, 93, died Feb. 11, 2009. He was born in Columbia onApril 3, 1915, to Charlie Pet and Beulah Mingo Irvin.

He worked many years as a truck driver with Grays Ice Cream,delivering milk and ice cream locally. Mr. Irvin also worked forPioneer Recovery retiring after 35 years of dedicated service. Hewas a farmer, who raised hogs, cows and various produce. He wasknown for his smoked sausage and hog-head cheese. Mr. Irvinbelieved in the spirit of sharing and giving to families in hiscommunity. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, sharing with people andmaking people laugh. Mr. Irvin never met a stranger. He joined NewZion Methodist Church at an early age.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his 11siblings.

Survivors are his wife of 65 years, Lula Irvin; his sons, BruceIrvin Jr., of Wesson, Halbert Irvin, of Brookhaven, and MichaelIrvin, of Columbia; his daughters, Barbara Johnson, Brenda Luethje,Karen Irvin, of Columbia, and Jacqueline Simmons, of Albany, Ga.; abrother, Charlie Irvin, of Detroit, Mich.; his fourbrothers-in-law; his two sisters-in-law; his 19 grandchildren; andhis 22 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives andfriends.

Marvin Rutledge

Services for Marvin Rutledge, of Baton Rouge, La., formerly ofBrookhaven, are 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Brookhaven FuneralHome Chapel on North Jackson Street with burial in Holly SpringsBaptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Rutledge, 88, died Feb. 18, 2009, in Memphis, Tenn. He wasborn in Louisiana on Feb. 20, 1920, to Alma and MarvinRutledge.

Mr. Rutledge proudly served his country for five years duringWorld War II serving on the frontlines in both North Africa andItaly. Upon his return from war, he went to college, married andreared his family, whom he devoted his life to. Mr. Rutledgeretired from Rabenhorst Funeral Home in Baton Rouge and duringretirement he returned to Brookhaven where he worked for BrookhavenFuneral Home.

Preceding him in death were his beloved wife of 59 years, NolaIvy Rutledge; his brothers, Belvard, Glynn and Roy Rutledge; andhis sisters, Lillian Gold and Annie Reagan.

Survivors are his children, Marlene Shaw, of Memphis, and JimRutledge, of Baton Rouge; and his sisters, Joyce Ware, of Jackson,Tenn., and Carolyn Landry, of Sulphur, La.; his five grandchildren,Shauna Miller, of Memphis, Ryn Jones, of Baton Rouge, HunterHorgan, of New York, Tracy Rutledge, of Baton Rouge, Emily Shaw, ofTampa, Fla.; his eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces andnephews.

Services for M.C. “Sonny” Williams, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Sunday, Feb. 22, at Rose Hill M.B. Church with burial in HillcrestCemetery.

Mr. Williams, 80, died Feb. 17, 2009. He was born in Brookhavenon June 6, 1928, to Andrew and Rosie Porter Williams.

He was retired. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and Navy withservice during the Korean War. He was a member of Rose HillMissionary Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Jimmy; and adaughter, Maria.

Services for R.W. Wilson, of Brookhaven, are 1 p.m. Monday, Feb.23, at Springfield M.B. Church in Bogue Chitto with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Mr. Wilson, 87, died Feb. 19, 2009, at Haven Hall Health CareCenter in Brookhaven. He was born in Caseyville on Jan. 24, 1921,to James Wilson and Emma Wilson.

He was a Progress High School graduate and attended Alcorn StateUniversity. Mr. Wilson retired from Jacobsen LawnmowerManufacturing Co. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Hewas a member of Springfield M.B. Church, where he served as adeacon, Sunday school superintendent and church treasurer. Mr.Wilson was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and NAACP.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Elois SuttonWilson; a son, Gregory; his brothers, James, Hubert, Wilmur andArtiriece; and his sisters, Berneva, Bertell, Leslie, Irie andAlice.

She was retired from the department of human services. She was amember of Victory Baptist Church.
