Zelia Norwood Carter

Services for Zelia Norwood Carter, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Saturday, March 7, at Ebenezer AME Church in Brookhaven with burialin the church cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.

Mrs. Carter, 90, died Feb. 28, 2009, at Haven Hall Health CareCenter in Brookhaven. She was born on Nov. 4, 1918, to ClaytonNorwood and Erma Williams Norwood.

She was retired. She was a member of Ebenezer AME Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband,Print Sims; her second husband, Leroy Carter; and her ninebrothers.

Survivors are a brother, Ardeous Norwood, of Claremont, Calif.;and a sister, Lula Smith, of Blackwood, N.J.; and a host of nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends.

Selena D. Case

Selena D. Case went to be with the Lord on March 5, 2009, at5:27 a.m. at her home in Baton Rouge, La. Selena turned 50 yearsold on Feb. 26, 2009. She was a native of Brookhaven.

Selena leaves behind her mother, Nita Faye Smith Case; herfather, Dennis M. Case; her sister, Tina Thibodeaux and herbrother-in-law, Mike Thibodeaux, all of Baton Rouge.

Selena’s brother, Ken B. Case, preceded her in death, leavingbehind his wife, Sandra R. Case and their three children. Christyis married to Michael Guillot, Charlotte is married to GeorgeRoussel and has two sons, Cameron and Corbin; and Cricket E. Case,all of Thibodeaux, La.

A special thanks to all our friends and relatives during hertime of illness. Also special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice and Drs.Rudolph Manalac, Richard W. Kearley, Brian S. Hathorn and RaynoldCorona.

The wake will be Friday night, March 6, 2009, from 5 until 9p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive in Brookhaven.The funeral will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2009, at thefuneral home. Burial will be in Friendship Baptist ChurchCemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friendship BaptistChurch, 1502 Friendship Lane, N.W., Brookhaven, MS.

CherĂ­ Hawkins

Services for CherĂ­ Hawkins, of Meadville, are 7 p.m. Thursday,March 5, at Bude Church of God. Graveside services are 10 a.m.Friday, March 6, at the church cemetery. Franklin Funeral Home isin charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the church.

Miss Hawkins, 35, died March 3, 2009, at her residence. She wasborn in Franklin County on Aug. 5, 1973, to Robert Hawkins andElizabeth Holland Hawkins.

She was a member of Bude Church of God.

Preceding her in death was her father, Robert Hawkins.

Survivors are her mother, Elizabeth Holland Hawkins, ofMeadville; a sister, Amy May and husband, Jimmy, of Meadville; agrandmother, Gloria Holland, of Meadville; her nephews, Justin andAustin May; and a host of aunts, uncles, friends and cousins.

Elder Horace Greeley Johnson

Services for Elder Horace Greeley Johnson, of Natchez, are 11a.m. Saturday, March 7, at Hickory Block United Methodist Church inUnion Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.

Mr. Johnson, 87, died March 2, 2009, at Adams County NursingHome. He was born in Union Church on March 31, 1921, to HenryJohnson and Rosena Bailey.

He was a retired logger. Mr. Johnson was a World War IIveteran.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his sisters, MaryBailey, Christine Clark, Gurlie Ford, Rosella Ford, Hattie Devaul,Lessie Green and Louvenia Windfield; her brothers, Clem Ford, ClayFord, Willie Ford and William Ford Jr.

Survivors are a son, Eddie Young, of Natchez; a daughter,Christina Rowan, of Fayette, a brother, Marshall Ford, of UnionChurch; his five grandchildren; his seven great-grandchildren; anda host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
