Bessie Mae Johnson Kyzar

Services for Bessie Mae Johnson Kyzar, of Denham Springs, La.,are 11 a.m. Friday, March 20, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel onNatchez Drive with burial in New Prospect Baptist ChurchCemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 9 until 11 a.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Kyzar, 87, died March 17, 2009, at Harvest Manor NursingHome in Denham Springs. She was born in Pike County on May 7, 1921,to Alex E. Johnson and Tenar Hayes Johnson.

She retired from retail sales with J.C. Penney Co. in BatonRouge, La. She was a member of Family Worship Center in BatonRouge.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, EarlBernard Kyzar; her brothers, Curtis Johnson, Leon Johnson, ClydeJohnson and Wes Johnson; her sisters, Eunice Ingram, MittieRoberts, Mamie Rushing Hall and Minnie Smith.

Survivors are her daughters, Elaine Martinez, of Baton Rouge,and Shirley Kyzar, of Walker, La.; a brother, Versie Johnson, ofBaton Rouge, La.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
