Services for Jesse Vernon Pierce, of Wesson formerly of UnionChurch, are 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at First Baptist Church inBrookhaven with burial in Rosehill Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome on Natchez Drive and Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m. at thechurch.

Mr. Pierce, 84, died March 17, 2009, at his residence. He wasborn in Union Church on Aug. 24, 1924, to Wylie Vernon Pierce andJessie Dixon Pierce.

He retired as regional vice president of the AssociatesInvestment Corp. in Gainesville, Ga. He was a member of FirstBaptist Church in Brookhaven.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Daisy BrittPierce in June 2000; his brothers, J.D. Pierce, Wylie Pierce, A.D.Pierce and James Pierce; his sisters, Della Pierce Whittington,Virgie Pierce Watts and Gladys Pierce Jones.

Survivors are his sons, Ron V. Pierce and wife, Phyllis, ofMarietta, Ga., and Steven J. Pierce and wife, Debbie, of FloweryBranch, Ga.; a sister, Maxine Walding, of Mobile, Ala.; his threegrandchildren, Tina Pierce Hayner, Jason Taylor Pierce and EmilyPierce Martin; his three great-grandchildren, Simeon, Noel andPhoebe Hayner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First BaptistChurch in Brookhaven.
