Sue Spencer Errington

Services for Sue Spencer Errington, of Brookhaven, were 11 a.m.Tuesday, March 24, at Heuck’s Retreat Baptist Church in Brookhavenwith burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family FuneralService was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Errington, 53, died March 21, 2009, at SouthwestMississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb. She was born on Dec.4, 1955, to Perry Calvin Spencer and Loretta Brister Spencer.

She was a secretary and homemaker. She also worked for theBrookhaven School District’s bus transportation. She was a memberof Heuck’s Retreat Baptist Church. She was invested with youth andchildren’s activities for 30 years. She was a member of the SouthMississippi Horseman’s Association, Brookhaven High School SoccerBooster Club and the Pink Sisters.

Preceding her in death was her father-in-law, RobertErrington.

Survivors are her parents, Perry and Loretta Spencer; herhusband, Tommy Errington; her sons, Robert “Spencer” and Jacob”Jake” Douglas Errington; a daughter, Jamie Leigh Errington; herbrothers, Perry Eugene Spencer, Bruce Calvin Spencer and JamesRichard Spencer; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and PinkSisters Relay for Life team, 1538 Sagewood Lane, Brookhaven, MS,39601.

“‘Sue,’ what a blessing” she has been to our family, our churchand our community. She lived her testimony of faith everyday. Iexpect she will be missed at Jackson Oncology as well … as shewas better known as “The Hat Lady.” She made and decorated adifferent hat for every holiday or occasion to wear when she wouldgo for treatment to always brighten the spirits of others who werethere. This evolved into her “Hat Ministry” and allowed her tospeak in various churches and share her testimony of God’s grace.She has been an inspiration at home and abroad in her daily walk.Through it all, her faith never wavered. We will miss her greatlyas we continue to serve an unfailing God.

Rubin Lloyd ‘Bo’ McDavid

Services for Rubin Lloyd “Bo” McDavid, of Brookhaven, were 10a.m. Saturday, March 21, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel onNatchez Drive with burial in Wellman Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. McDavid, 59, died March 18, 2009, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. He was born in Brookhaven on July 18,1949, to Lloyd L. McDavid and Mary Lou Smith McDavid.

He was a retired English teacher for the Lincoln County schoolsystem, who taught at West Lincoln and Enterprise AttendanceCenters. He was a member of Southway Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death was his father, Lloyd L. McDavid.

Survivors are his mother, Mary Lou McDavid, of Brookhaven; hiswife, Marilyn McDavid, of Brookhaven; a son, Chance McDavid, ofStarkville; a daughter, Larissa McDavid, of Hattiesburg; a sister,Geri Jinks, of Brookhaven; and a grandchild, Brayden McDavid.

Jerry Edward Rudman

A memorial service for Jerry Edward Rudman was held March 22 atTrinity Church in New Hope, Pa.

Riverwood Family Funeral Service was in charge of localarrangements.

Mr. Rudman, 48, was welcomed into heaven on March 4, 2009. Hewas born in Jonesboro, Ark. on July 20, 1960, to Jerry and IrisRudman.

He graduated from the University of Mississippi with a degree inaccounting. During his career, he lived in Houston, Texas,Lambertville, N.J., and New Hope, Pa. At the time of his passing,he was vice president of Center for Clinical Study Excellence withGlaxoSmithKline. He loved the Lord, his family and friends with allhis heart and shared his passion for life with everyone he met.

Preceding him in death was his father, Jerry.

Survivors are his mother, Iris Coker Rudman Smith; his brothers,Jon Rudman and Joel Rudman; his sisters, Judy Rudman and SuzanneBrooks; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins andfriends.

An endowment in his memory will be established at the Universityof Mississippi for a deserving Lincoln County student.

Barney Leroy Russell

Services for Barney Leroy Russell, of Monticello, are 11 a.m.Wednesday, March 25, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on NatchezDrive with burial in Johnson Grove Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Russell, 70, died March 24, 2009, at his residence. He wasborn in Monticello on April 30, 1938, to Clyde Russell and EmmaMagee Russell.

He retired from Wal-Mart. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was amember of Johnson Grove Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Bett Russell, of Monticello; his sons,Barney Russell Jr. and Lawrence Russell, all of Bogue Chitto; astepson, Kevin Wilson, of Wesson; his stepdaughters, RachelleGreer, of Monticello, and Sonia Baker, of Brookhaven; her sisters,Frankie Day, of McComb, and Earline Abrams and husband, Keith, ofBrookhaven; his eight grandchildren; and his threegreat-grandchildren.

Mary Louise Smith

Graveside services for Mary Louise Smith, of Ridgeland, are 4p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at Rose Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Cecil Joneswill officiate.

Visitation is Tuesday from 1 until 3:30 p.m. at BrookhavenFuneral Home on North Jackson Street.

She began her life in heaven on the evening of March 21, 2009after an extended illness at the Arbor of Pear Orchard RetirementHome in Ridgeland. The only daughter of Colon G. Farmer and MattieNell Farmer, of Crystal Springs, was born on Aug. 18, 1921.

Mrs. Smith was a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Junior College andattended Draughon’s Business College in Jackson. She worked brieflywith the State Tax Commission and later the rationing board duringWorld War II. The remainder of her life was dedicated to family andfriends. She was a longtime member of the First United MethodistChurch in Brookhaven. Mrs. Smith truly walked with the Lord inevery aspect of her life. She was a constant inspiration to bothfamily and friends. She would bake homemade bread and deliver freshbread along with written words of encouragement to those in need.She will be missed by all who had the opportunity to feel hergenuine love and sincerity; especially by her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 46years, Harold K. Smith Sr.; and son, Richard Brian Smith.

Survivors are her sons, Harold K. Smith Jr. and wife, Iris, ofHattiesburg, and William C. Smith, of Ridgeland; a grandson,Jonathan Smith and wife, Jennifer, of Mobile, Ala.; her threegranddaughters, Jennifer Nixon and husband, Darrin, of Mobile, AbbyPeterson and husband, Todd, of Madison, and Amy L. Smith, ofRidgeland; her four great-grandchildren, Dustin and Emily Nixon, ofMobile, and Lane and Presleigh Peterson, of Madison.

Pallbearers are Pope Kelly, Ed Brumfield, Bill Sones, MarkLewis, Jonathan Smith and Todd Peterson.
