North wins twice over South stars

CHOCTAW – Co-Lin guards Trent Hutchin and Rob Wallace scored 23and 12 points respectively Friday night but it wasn’t enough tostop the North from notching a 136-117 victory over the South inthe annual MACJC All-Star Men’s Basketball Game. Coahoma forwardTensely Coleman led the North with a game-high 26 points andgarnered MVP honors.

Kevin Harris scored 17 points and Gary 16 for the North who led77-51 at halftime. Justin Ray of Gulf Coast scored 13 points forthe South.

In the women’s game, the North authored a 79-77 triumph, led byNorthwest guard and game MVP Cieara Thomas with 16 points. TheNorth led 48-27 at halftime.

East Central guard Mistee Dale scored 15 points for the South.Gulf Coast forward Savannah Palomarez netted 13 points.

Co-Lin guards Rhonda Dumas and TeAirra Wilbert scored 7 and 8points respectively.

The South teams were under the direction of Co-Lin coaches GwynYoung, Dennis Sims and Cliff Furr.
