Jonnie Magee Clark

A memorial service for Jonnie Magee Clark, of Brookhaven, is 3p.m. Saturday, April 4, at Faith Presbyterian Church inBrookhaven.

A private graveside service is 2 p.m. Saturday.

Harrigill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

There will be no visitation, but the family will greet friendsfollowing the memorial service.

Mrs. Clark, 101, died April 1, 2009, at her residence. She wasborn in Franklinton, La., on Sept. 26, 1907, to John L. and EdithMagee and was second of eight children.

She moved to Brookhaven shortly afterward, where she grew up andremained and lived her life to the fullest. She was a devoted wifeto Chester A. Clark, who passed away Sept. 23, 2001. They gavethemselves to their family, church and community in ways toonumerous to mention all. Mrs. Clark was a partner in businesses, aleader in the education community having served as the first womanon the local school board and was a member of numerous civic clubs.She was also faithful and a benevolent member of Faith PresbyterianChurch.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters;and three brothers.

She is survived by a brother, Fred Magee, of Oklahoma; her sonand his wife, Mary and Ernie L. Clark, of Brookhaven; her daughterand her husband, Bette and Charles Dixon, of Brookhaven; hergrandchildren and their spouses, Cristan and Gus Dulaney, ofClinton, Allison and Jim Ingram, of Mountain Brook, Ala., Lee andKarrie Clark, of St. Joseph, Mo., Clark Dixon, of Brookhaven; andKari and Andrew Clark, of Hoover, Ala.; her sevengreat-grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth and Christian Dulaney, Anna,Madeline and Ellie Ingram, and Kaylee and Danika Clark.

She also leaves her longtime friend and faithful companionElaine Robinson along with friends of all ages.

The family would like to thank the faithful staff of HospiceMinistries of Brookhaven, especially Sherry Britt and AmaryllisLeggett, and the five ladies that made it possible for our motherto remain at home – Marie Watson, Donna Brown, Jenny Freeman,Sammie Smith and Shirley Freeman.

Praise the Lord for her wonderful and long life.
