Edward Hayden

Edward Hayden, 75, a resident of Tickfaw, La., passed awaypeacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2009, in Hammond, La.

Edward was a true avid LSU sports fan and also enjoyed huntingand fishing; but, the most important part of his life was thedevotion and love he gave to his family, which portrayed hisChristian character. Edward worked as an engineer specialist forthe Louisiana Department of Transportation and after retirement, heused his expertise working for numerous construction companiesthroughout the state.

Surviving Edward are his wife, Joann Jones Hayden, of Tickfaw;and his only daughter, Jayelynn Hayden Miceli, of Brookhaven. Hewas blessed with two grandchildren, Andaleigh Bowman and Blake Cainalong with three great-grandchildren, Maleigha, Braylon and Eathan,all of Brookhaven. Surviving siblings are Joan Iverstine, of Kenya,Africa, and Richaleen Rogers and husband, Dudley Rogers, ofTickfaw.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theresa Smith Haydenand Earl Hayden.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend thefuneral services from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson FuneralHome west of Hammond on Tuesday, April 14, at 2 p.m. The familyrequests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home chapelon Monday, April 13 from 6 until 9 p.m. and on Tuesday beginning at10 a.m. until the funeral service time. Dr. Rodney Taylor willofficiate the services and interment will follow in Little RiverPentecostal Church Cemetery in Tickfaw.
