Hilda Annice Hutson Anding
Services for Hilda Annice Hutson Anding, of Wesson, are 11 a.m.Wednesday, April 15, at Sylvarena Baptist Church in Wesson withburial in the church cemetery. Harrigill Funeral Home is in chargeof arrangements.
Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Anding, 80, died April 12, 2009, at his residence. She wasborn on June 13, 1928, to Clarence E. Hutson and Hilda SullivanHutson.
She retired as an inspector from Stahl Urban Manufacturing Co.She was a member of Sylvarena Baptist Church for 70 years. Mrs.Anding served as a Sunday school director, WMU director, WMUpresident and as a member of WMU for 50 years. She served onvarious other committees, as church hostess and a member of theQuilting Club at Sylvarena.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, LeeWillard Anding.
Survivors are her sons, Gene Anding and James W. Anding, both ofWesson; Anita Williams, of Wesson; her four grandchildren, AmyWilliams, Kristopher Williams, Dusty Anding and wife, Kelly, and TyAnding; and a great-grandchild, Gabby Anding.
Eva ‘Shelby’ Gunnell
Services for Eva “Shelby” Gunnell, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Tuesday, April 14, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel in Brookhavenwith burial in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Gunnell, 91, died April 12, 2009, at New Dawn RetirementCenter. She was born on Aug. 8, 1917, to William Joseph Lambert andElizabeth Ard.
She was a farmer and owner of Gunnell’s Grocery Store for 30years. She was a member of Ruth Baptist Church in Ruth.
Preceding her in death was her parents; her husband, JohnQuitman Gunnell; her brothers, Plez, Leon, Troy, Roy, Clell, Oscarand Ross Lambert; and her sisters, Lena Smith, Nonnie Peavey, RuthBoone and Charlene Lambert.
Survivors are a son, Johnny Joe Gunnell and wife, Sue, ofBrookhaven; a daughter, Dollie G. Brent and husband, Fred, of BogueChitto; her four grandchildren, Joey Brent and wife, Kathy, ofSoutheast Asia, Shelley Johnston and husband, Perry, of Franklin,Tenn., Jeff Brent and wife, Theresa, of McComb, Scott Gunnell andwife, Anne, of Moyock, N.C.; and two step grandchildren, ShirleyAllen, of Bogue Chitto, and Steve Gunnell, of Brookhaven; and herseven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild; and herthree step great-grandchildren.
Chance William Hughes
Private family services for Chance William Hughes, of Summit,will be held.
The infant died April 11, 2009, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb.
Preceding him in death was his maternal grandfather, J.W.King.
Survivors are his parents, David and Chris King Hughes, ofSummit; his paternal grandparents, Billie and Glenda Hughes, ofMcComb; a maternal grandmother, Barbara King, of Bogue Chitto; hisbrothers, Ryan Daniels and Drake Hughes, both of Summit; hisuncles, Daniel Hughes, of McComb, and Brad King, of Bogue Chitto;and an aunt, Cassandra Rushing and husband, Steve, ofBrookhaven.
Chuck Letchworth

Mr. Letchworth, 55, died April 11, 2009, at Lawrence CountyHospital in Monticello. He was born in Mississippi on Nov. 24,1953, to William Conley Letchworth and Hazel HedgepethLetchworth.
He was a fitter for Atlas Manufactory in Monticello. He was amember of Hepzibah Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Debbie Oliver Letchworth, of SilverCreek; a son, Dusty Letchworth, of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, DebraAlison Letchworth, of Seminary; and a brother, Elton Letchworth, ofSilver Creek.
Lewis Max Lovett
Services for Lewis Max Lovett, of Meadville, are 7 p.m.Wednesday, April 15, at First Baptist Church in Bude with burial inMidway Cemetery in Meadville. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.
Visitation is Wednesday from 3 until 7 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Lovett, 66, died April 10, 2009, at Franklin County MemorialHospital. He was born in Jamestown, Ohio, on Sept. 23, 1942, toRalph Lovett and Bertha Weaver Lovett.
He was retired. He was a member of First Baptist Church inBude.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister; and twobrothers.
Survivors are his wife, Norma Bedford Lovett, of Meadville; ason, John and Bessie Faye Lovett, of Meadville; a daughter, Bashiaand Chris Wilson, of Meadville; a brother, Lee Lovett, of Deforest,Wis.; his two sisters, Ruth Gills, of Jamestown, and HelenRichards, of Springfield, Ohio; his six grandchildren; his twogreat-grandchildren; and a special friend, Alvie Ray Pernell.
Vernon E. Shirley
Services for Vernon E. Shirley, of Gridley, Calif., will be heldat a later date. Lakeside Colonial Chapel in Marysville, Calif., isin charge of arrangements.
Mr. Shirley, 85, died April 9, 2009. He was born in Halsell,Ala., on Nov. 29, 1923.
He was a Gridley resident for 10 years, formerly living inBrookhaven. He was a salesman and a farmer. Mr. Shirley served inthe U.S. Navy during World War II. Including time on the USSFlorence Nightingale during the Pacific Campaign, he served as amerchant marine officer with the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a memberof FFA Star State Farmer of Louisiana in 1941 and was a longtimemember of the Lions Club.
Preceding him in death were his wife of 57 years, Alice W.Shirley; and a sister, Elsie Vest.
Survivors are his a son, Glenn E. Shirley, of Columbia; adaughter, Nora S. Hogan, of Gridley; his two brothers, JamesShirley, of Baton Rouge, La., and Harmon Shirley, of Brookhaven;his five sisters, Inez Stephens, Vernice Cook, both of Brookhaven,Delores Wilson, of Denham Springs, La., Catherine Middleton, ofTerry, and Bonnie Jene, of Houston, Texas; his three grandchildren;and his two great-grandchildren.
