The Rev. L. C. Hoff

Services for the Rev. L. C. Hoff, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Monday, April 20, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with burial inRosehill Cemetery. Harrigill Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

The Rev. Hoff, 95, died April 17, 2009, at Haven Hall HealthCare Center. He was born in Brookhaven on Sept. 23, 1913, to Frankand Cumyra Hoff.

He was a graduate of Clarke College, Mississippi College and NewOrleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He married the former JewelPierce in 1942. Mrs. Hoff passed away in 1993.

The Rev. Hoff was a Christian and retired Baptist minister. Inhis more than 50 years in the ministry, he was the pastor ofchurches in Crystal Springs, Florence, Columbia and Biloxi, as wellas churches in Eudora and Lake Village, Ark. He was a member of Mt.Moriah Baptist Church.

Survivors are his brother, A.L. Hoff and wife, Dolores, ofBrookhaven; his sons, Donald Hoff and wife, Laura Ann, of Valdosta,Ga., and Jerry Hoff and wife, Patrice, of Columbia; hisgrandchildren, Tessa Burns, of Winter Park, Fla., Erica Thomas andDonald Hoff, both of Pensacola, Fla., Angie Baugh of West Monroe,La., and Brett Hoff, of Columbia; seven great-grandchildren; andmany nieces and nephews.

Jerry Wayne Holland

Services for Jerry Wayne Holland, of Bude, are 2 p.m. Monday,April 20, at Praise Cathedral Church of God in Meadville withburial in Bude Church of God Cemetery. The Revs. Jerry Sullivan,George Guy and Jean Holland will officiate. Franklin Funeral Homeis in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 4 until 10 p.m. at the funeral homeand Monday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Holland, 41, died April 18, 2009, at Homochitto Campout inan ATV accident. He was born in Natchez on Sept. 2, 1967, to JerryHolland and Mary Gray Holland.

He was a maintenance supervisor for Pride Drilling Co.

Survivors are his wife, Vicki Sullivan Holland, of Bude; hisparents, Jerry Holland and Mary Gray Holland, of Bude; hisgrandfather, Johnnie R. Ezell, of Bude; his grandmother, Sue Gibbs,of Ragley, La.; his sons, Jeremy Wayne Holland and fiancee,Brittanty Smith, of McCall Creek, and Johnny Ryan Holland, of Bude;his stepsons, Dylon Jones, of Bude, and Jordan Jones, of Monroe,La.; his brother, Greg Holland and wife, Dana, of McCall Creek; hissisters, Melody Stein and husband, Bill, of Brandon, and TanyaFoster and husband, Brad, of Meadville; his mother-in-law andfather-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Sullivan, of Vidalia, La.; and manynieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Billy Ray Farmer, Blaine Lee, TravisTouchstone, Dewayne McFarland, Manson Smallwood and WillZumbro.

Ruth L. Putnam

Memorial services for Ruth L. Putnam, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Sunday, April 19, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on NorthJackson Street with burial in Nations Memorial Cemetery in LincolnCounty.

Mrs. Putnam, 100, died March 24, 2009, at Haven Hall HealthcareCenter in Brookhaven. She was born in Stillwater, N.Y., on Nov. 29,1908, to William R. Putnam and Bertha E. Farwell Putnam.

She retired as a nurse assistant at the University of VirginiaHospital. She was of Methodist faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Thomas Wantce;and a daughter, Connie Meadows.

Survivors are a son, William “Bill” Putnam Schultze, ofFredericksburg, Va.; and a daughter, Barbara Mitchell, of GlenAllen, Va.
