James Crossley

Services for James Crossley, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Wednesday, April 22, at Mt. Wade M.B. Church in Brookhaven withburial in Hillcrest Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Tuesday from 1 until 6 p.m. at R.E. Tyler FuneralHome in Brookhaven.

Mr. Crossley, 63, died April 18, 2009, at Hospice Ministries ofRidgeland. He was born on Dec. 22, 1945, to J.C. Crossley andLillie Mae Gipson Crossley.

He was formerly employed at NEKO Plastics. He served in the U.S.Marines.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, J.D.Crossley; and a sister, Lillie B. Hale.

Survivors are a daughter, Ana Alicia Crossley, of Jackson; hisbrothers, Charles Crossley and Michael Crossley, both ofBrookhaven; his sisters, Ruby Hornbucle, of Indianapolis, Ind., andSaundra Crossley, of Brookhaven.

Ruby Mae Lea

Services for Ruby Mae Lea, of Sontag, were 11 a.m. Tuesday,April 21, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Sontag with burial in thechurch cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.

Mrs. Lea, 95, died April 19, 2009, at Lawrence County NursingCenter in Monticello. She was born in Copiah County on April 1,1914, to William Morgan Chance and Esther Hall Chance.

She was a retired cattle farmer and a homemaker. She was amember of Shiloh Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, CallieCurtis “Curt” Lea; a daughter, Madge McManus; her brothers, AubreyChance, Denver Chance, Buford Chance and Curtis Chance; a sister,Sybil Kinchen; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.

Survivors are her sons, Curtis Glen Lea and Ronnie Lea, both ofSontag; a daughter, Faye Frankenhiem, of Sontag; and a sister,Kathryn Moore, of Jackson; her eight grandchildren; and her 11great-grandchildren.

Sharon Ann Pevey

Services for Sharon Ann Pevey, of Jayess, are 11 a.m. Wednesday,April 22, at New Hope Baptist Church in Monticello with burial inthe church cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Homein Monticello.

Mrs. Pevey, 59, died April 19, 2009, at St. Dominic-JacksonMemorial Hospital in Jackson. She was born in Tylertown on Feb. 12,1950, to Jere Thames and Nonnie Nelson Thames.

She was a retired dispatcher with Wal-Mart Distribution. She wasa member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her husband, Ronnie Pevey; her sons, Jason Peveyand wife, Casey, of Jayess, and Matthew Pevey, of San Francisco,Calif.; a daughter, Dana White and husband, Chad, of Jayess; abrother, Phillip Thames, of Jayess; her sisters, Brenda Rutland, ofJayess, Gerry Sanders, of Byram, Joy Brister, of Jayess, and JoanDear, of Monticello; and her five grandchildren.

Albert Vance Sr.

Services for Albert Vance Sr., of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Thursday, April 23, at St. Paul M.B. Church in Brookhaven withburial in St. Peter Rock M.B. Church Cemetery in Wesson.

Visitation is Wednesday from 1 until 7 p.m. at Williams Mortuarywith family present from 6 until 7 p.m.

Mr. Vance, 77, died April 15, 2009, at his residence. He wasborn in Inverness on March 7, 1932, to Douglas Vance and VernaWilliams Vance.

He was a graduate of Prentiss Institute. He was retired. He wasa member of St. Paul M.B. Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Blanch Vance;a daughter, Luella Vance; a son, William Vance.

Survivors are his loving and devoted companion, Lillie Wilcher,of Brookhaven; his sons, Larry Sanders, of Beauregard, Albert VanceJr. and wife, Rosie, of Wesson, Ricky Vance and wife, Kathy, ofSpartanburg, S.C., Jerry Wilcher and wife, Stacey, of Brookhaven,Tracey Wilcher and wife, Shelia, Avery Wilcher and Tony Rauls, allof Springfield, Md.; his daughters, Carrie Lenoir and husband,Edward, Sharon Williams, all of Brookhaven, Sandra Perkins andhusband, Chris, of Hazlehurst, Stacy Trotter and husband, James, ofJackson; a brother-in-law, Mose Williams, of Hazlehurst; an aunt,Mary Junior, of Brandon; an uncle, Butler Junior, of Brandon; his29 grandchildren; his five great-grandchildren; and many otherrelatives and friends.
