Beatrice Butler Henderson

Services for Beatrice Butler Henderson, of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. Friday, April 24, at Ebenezer AME Church in Brookhaven withburial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 1 until 7 p.m. at Williams Mortuarywith family present from 6 until 7 p.m.

Mrs. Henderson, 82, died April 18, 2009, at Haven HallHealthcare Center in Brookhaven. She was born in Chicago, Ill., onMarch 29, 1927, to Frank Butler and Mavis Smith Butler.

She attended Goodwin School and graduated from Alexander HighSchool. She also graduated from Campbell College in Jackson in1947. Mrs. Henderson was retired. She was a member of Ebenezer AMEChurch where she served on the usher board and sang in thechoir.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, SylvesterHenderson Sr.; her daughters, Linda Thompson Lowe and BrendaHenderson Williams; and her grandsons, Anthony Henderson and TravisHenderson.

Survivors are a daughter, Annette Allen and husband, Ross, ofBrookhaven; her sons, Sylvester Henderson Jr. and wife, Brenda, ofBrookhaven, Frank Henderson Sr. and wife, Rebecca, of Union Church,Alfred Henderson Sr. and wife, Jan, Ernest Henderson and PaulHenderson and wife, Dianne, all of Wesson; a sister, BettyLackland, of Chicago, Ill.; a brother, Alfred Butler, of Wesson; asister-in-law, Vera “Peggy” Thomas, of Fort Smith, Ark.; abrother-in-law, David Henderson and wife, Lena Mae, of Brookhaven;her 20 grandchildren; her 31 great-grandchildren; her goddaughters,Jackie Dillon, Lori “Tootie” Butler, both of Brookhaven, and DotCatchings, of Wesson; her cousins, Alberta Norris, of Wesson, andClara Mae Trunnell, of Brookhaven; a very special friend, PearlHenderson, of Brookhaven; and many nieces, nephews and otherrelatives.

Jessie B. Price

Services for Jessie B. Price, of Bogue Chitto, were 11 a.m.Wednesday, April 22, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on NorthJackson Street with burial in Pleasant Hill Baptist ChurchCemetery.

Miss Price, 85, died April 20, 2009, at Camellia Estates inMcComb. She was born in Lincoln County on Dec. 14, 1923, to JesseJ. Price and Winnie Burns Price.

She retired from Brookhaven Bank after 35 years of service. Shewas a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brothers, JohnWilliam Price and James Lee Price; and a sister, Beth P. Comer.

Survivors are her sisters, Virginia Faye Wallace, Janice Wallaceand Nelda Clark, all of Bogue Chitto; and a host of nieces andnephews.

Pallbearers will be Steve Wallace, David Wallace, Jamie Clark,Mark Price, Norman Price and Ricky Price.

Albert Vance Sr.

Services for Albert Vance Sr., of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Thursday, April 23, at St. Paul M.B. Church in Brookhaven withburial in St. Peter Rock M.B. Church Cemetery in Wesson.

Visitation is Wednesday from 1 until 7 p.m. at Williams Mortuarywith family present from 6 until 7 p.m.

Mr. Vance, 77, died April 15, 2009, at his residence. He wasborn in Inverness on March 7, 1932, to Douglas Vance and VernaWilliams Vance.

He was a graduate of Prentiss Institute. He was retired. He wasa member of St. Paul M.B. Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Blanch Vance;a daughter, Luella Vance; a son, William Vance.

Survivors are his loving and devoted companion, Lillie Wilcher,of Brookhaven; his sons, Larry Sanders, of Beauregard, Albert VanceJr. and wife, Rosie, of Wesson, Ricky Vance and wife, Kathy, ofSpartanburg, S.C., Jerry Wilcher and wife, Stacey, of Brookhaven,Tracey Wilcher and wife, Shelia, Avery Wilcher and Tony Rauls, allof Springfield, Mass.; his daughters, Carrie Lenoir and husband,Edward, Sharon Williams, all of Brookhaven, Sandra Perkins andhusband, Chris, of Hazlehurst, Stacy Trotter and husband, James, ofJackson; a brother, David Brooks and wife, Annie, of Wesson; hissisters, Carolyn Dixon and husband, Walter, and Ellen Robinson, allof Los Angeles, Calif.; a brother-in-law, Mose Williams, ofHazlehurst; an aunt, Mary Junior, of Brandon; an uncle, ButlerJunior, of Brandon; his 29 grandchildren; his fivegreat-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives andfriends.
