Georgia Belle Gary
Services for Georgia Belle Gary, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Monday, May 18, at Center Street Church of Christ in Brookhavenwith burial in Carver Heights Cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday from 2 until 6 p.m. at Williams Mortuary inBrookhaven.
Mrs. Gary, 71, died May 12, 2009, at her residence. She was bornin Franklin County on Dec. 27, 1937, to Harrison Putman and HattieTerrell.
She retired from Brook Manor Nursing Center with almost 40 yearsof service. She was a member of Center Street Church of Christ.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Oscar LeeGary; and a daughter, Daisy Lee Gary.
Survivors are a son, Arthur Gary, of Brookhaven; a sister,Minnie Coleman, of Brookhaven; her brothers, James Cotton, ofBrookhaven, and Roosevelt Freeman, of Winnsboro, La.; her fourgrandchildren; her three great-grandchildren; and her many nieces,nephews and other relatives.
Willie McCullough
Services for Willie McCullough were 10 a.m. Friday, May 15, atRiemann Family Funeral Homes Chapel in Gulfport with burial inFloral Hills Memorial Gardens.
Mr. McCullough died May 13, 2009. He was born in Brookhaven onJan. 2, 1919, to Will and Nan McCullough.
He moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 1942. Mr. McCulloughwas stationed at Keesler Air Force Base and served overseas inWorld War II until 1946. He then entered the tire business when hereturned home. Eventually opening Southern Tire Sales, where heremained for 30 years. He was a Shriner and a Mason. He lovedfishing and spending time with his family and friends. He was afaithful member and deacon of Grace Memorial Baptist Church, wherehe taught Sunday school for many years. He loved the Lord and hiswife Flo. Together they served the Lord.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Stephen DouglasMcCullough; his brothers, Byron, Morris, Lawrence and EdwardMcCullough; his two sisters, Callie Adams and Mattie Smith.
Survivors are his wife of 65 years, Florence; his son, MichaelSr.; a brother, D.R. “Doc” McCullough; a grandson; and many nieces,nephews and friends.
Laurie Jean Rains
Services for Laurie Jean Rains, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Saturday, May 16, at Community Funeral Services Chapel inBrookhaven with burial in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery inBrookhaven.
Visitation is Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mrs. Rains, 47, died May 13, 2009, at her residence. She wasborn in Hazlehurst on March 21, 1962, to Clifton White and BettyOdom Rigdon.
She attended Southaven High School. She was affiliated with ColdSprings Church of Christ and Macedonia Baptist Church.
Survivors are her husband, Scottie Dean Rains, of Brookhaven;her sons, Timothy Abbott, James Rains, Coty Rains, Buck Rains andBilly Rains; her daughters, Nonie Rains-Martin and Sarah Rains; herbrothers, David Barker, Chris White and Kevin White; her sisters,Jeanette Therrell and Janet Simmons; and her six grandchildren.
