Bennie Lee Alexander Powell

Services for Bennie Lee Alexander Powell, of Jayess, are 10 a.m.Wednesday, May 20, at Topeka Baptist Church in Jayess with burialin the Powell Family Cemetery in Jayess. Wilson Funeral Home is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 10 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Powell, 76, died May 16, 2009, at Forrest General Hospitalin Hattiesburg. She was born in Wetumpka, Ala., on June 30, 1932,to Clayton Alexander and Lessie Lee Robbins Alexander.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Topeka Baptist Churchin Jayess.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, JackAlexander; a sister, Darlene Alexander; and a brother-in-law, HughDean Thornhill.

Survivors are her husband, Charles Ray Powell; her sons, CharliePowell and wife, Wanda, Richie Powell and wife, Mary, and WaynePowell and wife, Genie, all of Jayess; her daughters, Pat Gummoeand husband, Will, of Vacaville, Calif., Marsha Everett andhusband, Al, of Jayess, Donna Small and husband, Mike, of Sontag,and Renee Smith and husband, Dale, of Jayess; her brothers,Randolph Alexander and wife, Linda, of Jayess, and Jesse Alexanderand wife, Jean, of Sontag; her sisters, Willie Ruth Thornhill andJo Thornhill and husband, Carrol, all of Jayess; a sister-in-law,Jeanette Alexander, of Jayess; her 21 grandchildren; her 32great-grandchildren with the promise of two more.

Arnetta Wilcher

Services for Arnetta Wilcher, of Brookhaven, were 11 a.m.Tuesday, May 19, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Brookhavenwith burial in Siloam Cemetery in Brookhaven. Williams Mortuary wasin charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wilcher, 87, died May 13, 2009, at Haven Hall HealthcareCenter. She was born in Lincoln County on Feb. 12, 1922, to HenceAdams and Annie Fairman Adams.

She was retired. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’sWitness.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, RobertWilcher Sr.; her children, Annette Wilcher, Janice Wilcher and C.L.Wilcher; her sisters, Selma Wilcher, Almettia Adams, Vera Lee Hall,Nellie McGee and Audrey Adams; her brothers, Sylvester Wells, R.T.Short, Jessie Adams, Ira Bowman Jr. and J.E. Adams; and her twograndchildren, Tammy Gayten and Terri Crockett.

Survivors are her children, Robert Wilcher Jr. and wife,Darlene, Johnny Lee Wilcher and wife, Cora Bell, Flossie Byrd andhusband, Willie, Artis Robinson and husband, Louis, Annie Browderand husband, Clyde, Billy Wilcher and wife, Cynthia, all ofBrookhaven, Sylvester Wilcher and wife, Clara, of Chicago, Ill.,and Vicki Fitzpatrick and husband, Wess, of Brookhaven; a brother,Charlie Williams, of Brookhaven; her 35 grandchildren; her 55great-grandchildren; and her 22 great-great-grandchildren.
