Thomas Alan ‘Tadpole’ Emfinger

Services for Thomas Alan “Tadpole” Emfinger, of Columbus, arenoon Thursday, May 21, at Jones Family Funeral Services Chapel inMcComb with burial in Easthaven Cemetery in Brookhaven. Bro. EdwinHaskell will officiate.

Visitation is Wednesday from 6 until 9 p.m. and Thursday from 10a.m. until noon at the funeral home.

Mr. Emfinger, 41, died of a heart attack on May 16, 2009, at hisresidence. He was born in Brookhaven on Sept. 16, 1967, to FredElize Emfinger Sr. and Zadie Maxie Mercier Robertson.

He was an electrician. He was of Baptist faith. His family saidhe was a wonderful father who gave all his energy into taking careof his children, especially his son Quentin who is physicallychallenged. Mr. Emfinger was devoted to his family and friends andwill be remembered as an uncle who had a great sense of humor. Hewill be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brothers, AndyEmfinger and Little John Emerson.

Survivors are his stepmother, Doris Cooper Emfinger; his wife,Sabrina Emfinger; his sons, Quentin Emfinger, Austin and DustinDickerson; his brothers, Matt, Mike and Fred Emfinger, Jay, Scott,Billy, Hank and Randy Evans, Alton and Ernie Scarber; his sisters,Sandra Hall, Tammy Andrade and Cheryl Blackwell; his best friend,Carl “Tex” Terry; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be his brothers and sister.

Avirl B. Roberts

Services for Avirl B. Roberts, of Summit, are 2 p.m. Thursday,May 21, at Johnston Chapel United Methodist Church with burial inthe church cemetery. Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 1until 2 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Roberts, 87, died May 18, 2009, at St. Tammany ParishHospital in Covington, La. She was born in Summit on Dec. 20, 1921,to Will and Rose Bigner Brown.

She was a homemaker and a very active and a lifelong member ofJohnston Chapel United Methodist Church until her health began tofail.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, EdwardRoberts; a daughter, Martha Roberts Ladieu; her brothers, EarlBrown and Hilton Brown; and a grandson, Todd Roberts.

Survivors are her daughters, Patsy Baker, of Falling Waters,W.Va., and Carol Rardin, of Belton, Texas; her two sisters-in-law;her eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; her twogreat-great-grandchildren; and a niece.

Ricky Doyle Rollins

Services for Ricky Doyle Rollins, of Jayess, are 11 a.m.Thursday, May 21, at Harmony Baptist Church in Brookhaven withburial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Riverwood FamilyFuneral Service and Thursday from 9 until 11 a.m. at thechurch.

Mr. Rollins, 59, died May 19, 2009, at his residence. He wasborn on May 15, 1950, to Doyle Rollins and Ruby Thornton.

He was an employee of Dickerson & Bowen. He was a member ofHarmony Baptist Church.

Survivors are his parents; his wife, Patricia Fuller Rollins; ason, Robert D. Rollins; his daughters, LaRhonda Neil and ElizabethJackson; a brother, Ronnie Rollins; his sisters, Shirley Rollinsand Diane Davis; and his seven grandchildren.
