Gloria Elizabeth Farrar
Services for Gloria Elizabeth Farrar, of Wesson, were 10 a.m.Friday, May 29, at Strong Hope Baptist Church with burial inBeauregard Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Services in Hazlehurstwas in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Farrar, 78, died May 26, 2009, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson.
She was a native of Vicksburg. She graduated from Clinton HighSchool and Mississippi College with a Bachelor of Arts degree ineducation. She formerly lived in Jackson, where she taught forseveral years. She moved to Wesson in 1975 and worked at ModernEngineering for several years. She was a member of Strong HopeBaptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her first and secondhusbands; her three infant children; and a brother, William “Billy”Jefferson Allen Jr.
Survivors are her sons, Peter M. Lawrence and wife, Vallerie, ofCrystal Springs, and Timothy A. Lawrence and wife, Gretchen, ofWesson; a daughter, Gloria E. Turner and husband, Isaac, of Wesson;her sisters, Barbara Sprout, Gladys Beatty and Linda Axton, all ofDallas, Texas; her 11 grandchildren, Van Turner, Kim Runyan, BradTurner, David Lawrence, Brandy Lawrence, Melissa Lawrence, TimothyLawrence Jr., Russell Lawrence, Joe Turner, Justin Turner and AprilCline; and her 21 great-grandchildren.
Eldon Denver Osmun
Services for Eldon Denver Osmun, of Brookhaven, were 2 p.m.Tuesday, May 26, at Vision Community Church in Brookhaven.Community Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Osmun, 60, died May 24, 2009, at the University ofMississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born in Michigan onApril 29, 1923, to Howard Osmun and Atha Lester Osmun.
He was a truck driver. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was amember of Vision Community Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a granddaughter; and abrother-in-law.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Osmun, of Brookhaven; his sons,Travis Osmun, Charles Osmun and Robert Ellington; his daughters,Tammy Osmun, Amanda Coon and Kala Osmun; a brother, Jerry Osmun;and his 12 grandchildren.
James Earl Sills
Services for James Earl Sills, of Monticello, are 2 p.m. Friday,May 29, at Crooked Creek Baptist Church in Silver Creek with burialin Cliburn Cemetery in New Hebron. Wilson Funeral Home is in chargeof arrangements.
Mr. Sills, 69, died May 27, 2009, at Lawrence County Hopsital.He was born in Mississippi on Nov. 8, 1939, to James Henry Sillsand Dezzie Sills.
He was a retired police officer. He served in the U.S. Navy. Hewas a member of Crooked Creek Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his sons, James Edward “Eddie” Sills, ofMonticello, Mike Gaffney, of Jackson, and Pat Gaffney, of Sontag;his daughters, Sherry Rushing, Jo Hyde, both of Monticello, andKathy Sills, of Arizona; a sister, Linda Sills, of Alabama; his 12grandchildren; and his eight great-grandchildren.
