Services for Marie “Ma Pick” Pickering, of Bude, are 11 a.m.Thursday, July 2, at the Pentecostal Lighthouse with burial inMidway Cemetery in Meadville. The Revs. Lanse Foster, Lynn Oglesby,Shannon Martin and Brian Foster will officiate.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at Franklin FuneralHome and Thursday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church.

Mrs. Pickering, 89, died June 29, 2009, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. She was born in Franklin County on April1, 1920, to Emmitt Johnston and Mamie Wells Johnston.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of PentecostalLighthouse.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, LevonPickering; and a son, James Russell Pickering.

Survivors are a son, Lynn Pickering and wife, Angie, of Jackson;her daughters, Peggy Maples and husband, Billy, of Jackson, La.,and Margaret Foster and husband, Donald, of Raymond; her brothers,Emmitt Johnston, of McComb; a stepbrother, Floyd Wilkinson, ofSmithdale; a stepsister, Mildred Sasser, of Bogue Chitto; her eightgrandchildren; and her 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Braxton Foster, Rodney Foster, Terry Maples, TimMaples, Justin Maples, Jeremy Maples, Spencer Pickering and RickyJohnston.

Honorary pallbearers are Calvin Foster and Paul Dixon.
