Two arrests made in drug store burglary

Hazlehurst authorities are looking for more information in asituation surrounding the early Friday burglary of a local drugstore.

Hazlehurst Police Department Assistant Chief Darian Murray saidtwo men have been arrested in the burglary of Rose’s Super DiscountDrugs on Caldwell Drive, but their names are not yet beingreleased. The two men are charged with burglary of a building.

“They were stealing from the pharmacy, taking prescriptionmedications,” said Murray, adding that some hydrocodone wastaken.

Murray said the burglary occurred around 3 a.m. Friday. He saidthe incident was different than other recent crimes in the areaduring the summer months.

“Mostly we’ve had problems with juveniles, that’s been the bigproblem,” Murray said. “Just violation of curfew and things.”

Other charges are possible in the burglary, Murray said, pendingfurther investigation by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.
