FC’s Jordan Hunt set for all-star game

CLINTON – Franklin County fullback/linebacker Jordan Hunt isoptimistic about this Thursday’s Bernard-Blackwell All-Star game atMississippi College. The game beginsat 7p.m.

Hunt, 6-1, 225-pound, Copiah-Lincoln Community College footballsignee, reported for practice Monday. He’s expected to see amajority of the snaps at fullback.

“Everything is going good,” said Hunt. “I’m ready for the gameto get here. We’ve had one practice so far. It rained Tuesdaymorning’s practice out.”

Over his 3-year varsity career, Hunt starred at linebacker andfullback for the Bulldogs. He was a starting linebacker on FranklinCounty’s 2006 Class 3A Championship team.

Last year, Hunt had 58 tackles, 2 sacks, recovered a fumble andintercepted a pass despite playing through an injury-plagued seasonthat saw him miss 4 games with a mid-season knee injury. TheBulldogs finished 12-2 and were Class 3A South State runnersup.

“High school was fun and this will be my last high school game,”added Hunt who has been taking classes at Co-Lin the summer. “I’mready to get started at Co-Lin and sign somewhere big after a yearor two.”

Hunt made the Class 3A All-State second team his junior year asa fullback, rushing for 1,011 yards and 12 touchdowns. FC finishedState runner- up to Louisville in 2007.

“We’ve got to beat the North Thursday,” said Hunt. “It’s a bigdeal for us in the South to come and get the win.”
