Services for Ruth Owens, of Hazlehurst, are 11 a.m. Wednesday,July 29, at First Presbyterian Church with burial in the HazlehurstCemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Stringer FamilyFuneral Services Chapel in Hazlehurst.

Mrs. Owens, 95, died July 26, 2009, at Pine Crest Guest Home inHazlehurst. She was born in Tulsa, Okla., on Feb. 13, 1914.

She resided five miles west of Hazlehurst in the Gallatincommunity since 1915. Mrs. Owens was a faithful member of FirstPresbyterian Church of Hazlehurst and Gallatin Homemakers Club.

Preceding her in death were her husband, T.C. Owens; and son,David T. R. Owens.

Survivors are her daughters, Catherine O. Cox, of Brookhaven,Nancy O. Harris and husband, Milton, of Gulfport, and Linda O.Ferrell and husband, Mitch; her 10 grandchildren; her 24great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
