Services for Clyde Thompson Wilson, of Aberdeen, are 1 p.m.Sunday, Aug. 2, at the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel inAberdeen with burial in Beeks Cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Wilson, 78, died July 30, 2009, at his residence. He wasborn in Aberdeen on Aug. 22, 1930, to Byron Wilson and ThelmaLouise Hill.

A 1950 Copiah-Lincoln Junior College graduate, Mr. Wilson was aBlue Wave Show Band member and played saxophone in the stage band.He served in the U.S. Army as a corporal in the 101th InfantryDivision, the Screaming Eagles, at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.For 10 years, Mr. Wilson served as Co-Lin band director. Under hisleadership the band and the Colettes were able to perform in eventssuch as the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C., and theMacy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. He was inducted into the Co-Linband and Colette alumni Hall of Fame in 2008.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are a number of cousins.

Memorials may be made to the Copiah-Lincoln Band and ColetteAlumni for band scholarships in his name.
