Lowman signs with Wolfpack

WESSON – Former Brookhaven midfielder Chris Lowman is lookingforward to playing soccer for the Copiah-Lincoln Community CollegeWolfpack. Lowman has signed a scholarship with the Wolves.

Co-Lin coach Brian Moore said he was happy to have Lowman on thesquad. “Chris is a good shooter on set plays. He can use eitherfoot very well. He has power with both feet He’s anoffensive-minded player and he has good ball-handling skills,too.”

“I’m looking forward to playing for Coach Moore,” said Lowman.He plans to pursue a career in industrial maintenance atCo-Lin.

Lowman (5-10, 147) was in charge of kickoffs, extra points andfield goals for the Ole Brook Panthers. He helped lead the footballteam to a runner-up finish in Division 6-4A and a berth in thestate playoffs where the Panthers lost to West Jones in the secondround. He was chosen Most Improved Player on the 2008 BHS squad. Hewas MVP in soccer.

His sister, Hannah, had intentions of playing for the Co-Linwomen’s team but opted for an academic scholarship at SouthernMiss. The twins are the children of John and Linda Lowman.

Jake Errington, a forward/midfielder from Brookhaven, also hassigned a soccer scholarship with Co-Lin. “Jake has very goodspeed,” said Moore., “He will develop into a very good player.”

Errington was Ole Brook’s Most Valuable Offensive Player lastseason.

Andrew Sandoz of Warren Central also has joined the Pack as agoalkeeper.

Co-Lin recently signed a player from False River Academy NewRoads, La., in forward/midfielder Ena Peebles. Her father, Ritchie,is a BHS graduate. “Ena can create offense for us,” said Moore. “Weneed help on the offensive side.”

Trey Woodham was recently hired to coach the Co-Lin men’s team.Moore will coach the women’s team.
