Services for Maggie Lou Bullock, of Bogue Chitto, will be at 10a.m. Friday at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with interment inPleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Riverwood.

Mrs. Bullock, 86, died Aug. 3, 2009, at Brook Manor GoldenLiving Center in Brookhaven where she was a longtime resident. Shewas born on Oct. 30, 1922, to Luke Mark Kernop and Maggie Mae McKayKernop in their home in Camden. Lou graduated from Camden HighSchool and afterward traveled to a National Youth Administrationcamp in Brookhaven, where she met Robert Ermus Bullock, her husbandof 52 years.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was alongtime member and Sunday school teacher at Pleasant Hill BaptistChurch in Bogue Chitto.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; herbrothers, Frank, Wesley and Harold Kernop; and her sisters, DaisyCain and Wardine Pace Arnold.

Survivors are a daughter, Bobbie Alice Griffin and husband, Roy;her sons, Mark Ermus Bullock and wife, Nancy, and Harold EdwardBullock and wife, Pamela; her grandchildren, David Griffin andwife, Jenny, Stacey Griffin-Knight and husband, Charles, JohnBullock and wife, Kim, Jennifer Bullock Stewart and husband,Jeremy, Jason Bullock and wife, Kristen, Janet Bullock Berry andhusband, Jeremy, Jillian Bullock Fain and husband, John, LauraBullock and Rebecca Bullock; and three great-grandchildren. Alsosurviving are her loving sister-in-law, Rachel Bullock; her nieces,Frances Ferguson, Gale Sheppeard, Margaret Gross, Jeanette Duran,Annette Seawright and Ann Hall; and her nephews, Jimmy Bullock,Jack Cain, Ralph Cain and Charles Kernop.

For 28 years, Lou was an Air Force wife, following her husbandto Japan three times and living in various places around the UnitedStates. She raised her children to love their God and country,appreciate the diversity they encountered and learn many lessonsfrom those cultures. At each location, Lou and Ermus helped growBaptist churches.

In retirement, they devoted their lives to the works andmissions of the Southern Baptist Church. Lou’s life has been one ofa strong Christian with a great belief in the power of prayer. Sheprayed daily for each child, grandchild and great-grandchild byname. Heaven rejoices in her homecoming!

The family requests donations to the Pleasant Hill BaptistChurch Building Fund in lieu of flowers.
