Donnice Lejoy ‘PeeWee’ Clark

Services for Donnice Lejoy “PeeWee” Clark, of Monticello, are 11a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticellowith burial in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello.

Visitation is Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Clark, 56, died Aug. 22, 2009, at Centreville FieldMemorial Hospital in Centreville. She was born on Feb. 26, 1953, toFleet Alexander Miller and Outida Townsend Miller.

She was a homemaker. She was a Baptist and a member of SaulsValley Church.

Preceding her in death were her father; her husband, Tommie Gene”Bud” Clark; a brother, Henry “Buddy” Miller; and a sister, FrancesMiller.

Survivors are her daughters, Donnice Faye Clay and Elizabeth”Lit Bit” Lane, both of Monticello; her brothers, Curtis Miller, ofMonticello, Fleet Miller Jr., of Kokomo, and Bobby Don Miller, ofClinton; her sisters, Jody Spence, of Kokomo, Patricia Shaw, ofJayess, and Martha Clark, of Salem; and her three grandchildren,Alyssa Lane, Thomas Warren Clay and Christopher Clark Clay.

James O. ‘Bud’ Melton

Services for James O. “Bud” Melton, of Brookhaven, were 2 p.m.Sunday, Aug. 23, at Community Funeral Services Chapel in Brookhavenwith burial in Union Hall Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Melton, 64, died Aug. 20, 2009, at the University ofMississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born on Jan. 26,1945, in Yazoo City to Mike O. Melton and Frances Melton.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and a brother.

Survivors are his wife, Joyce Melton, of Brookhaven; onedaughter, Nancy Green and husband, Ben, of Brookhaven; his threesons, Billy Upton and wife, Debby, of Brookhaven, Michael Upton andwife, Kay, of Cotton Valley, La., and Jason Case and fiancé,Jennifer, of Bogue Chitto.

He has two sisters, Linda King and Dean Wilburn; and threebrothers, Reggie, Fred and David Melton. He also has fivegrandchildren, Joanna, Jessica, Brittany, Kayla and Jacob Mariah.Also he has two special pets, Prince and Lady Bug.

Fannie Lou Rogers Roberts

Services for Fannie Lou Rogers Roberts, of Monticello, are 3p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticellowith burial in Arm Cemetery in Silver Creek.

Mrs. Roberts, 86, died Aug. 23, 2009, at Lawrence County NursingCenter in Monticello. She was born on Sept. 30, 1922, to KnoxRogers and Jennie Cole.

She retired a sales clerk with TWL in Monticello. She was amember of Monticello Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, ErnieEverett Roberts; a daughter, Nancy Smith; and a twin brother, VanRogers.

Survivors are a son-in-law, Charlie Smith, of Silver Creek; hertwo granddaughters, Wendy Hart, of Shreveport, La., and RobinMerle, of St. Louis, Mo.; and her three great-grandchildren, ZoeMarie Hart, Robert Avery Hart and Blaise Charles Merle.

Thomas E. ‘Pete’ Smith

Services for Thomas E. “Pete” Smith are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug.25, at Rose-Neath’s Bossier Chapel in Bossier City, La., withburial in Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City with full militaryhonors.

Visitation is Monday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Smith, 68, died Aug. 22, 2009. He was born in Brookhaven onJuly 3, 1941, to Edward “P.T.” and Clara Lee Smith.

He was a 1959 graduate of Brookhaven High School. He was aretired U.S. Air Force master sergeant.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and a daughter, TracyLynn Stevens.

Survivors are his wife of 46 years, Joy Smith, of Shreveport,La.; a son, Thomas E. Smith Jr. and wife, Carla, of Benton, La.; abrother, Danny G. Smith and wife, Margaret Ratliff Smith, ofBrookhaven; and his two grandchildren, Sha and Jena Smith.

Mary Thompson

Services for Mary Thompson, of Oakvale, are 11 a.m. Wednesday,Aug. 26, at New Zion M.B. Church in Oakvale with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 4 until 7 p.m. at R.E. Tyler FuneralHome.

Mrs. Thompson, 73, died Aug. 19, 2009, at the University ofMississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was born in JeffersonDavis County on July 7, 1936, to Willie Powell and RosieMcClendon.

She was a retired meat market manager for the Country Store inMonticello.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, HenryCharles Thompson; a son, Willie Thompson; a daughter, MelissaSuzette Thompson; and a brother, Ezell Pittman.

Survivors are her sons, Archie Thompson, of Silver Creek, Jimmy,Eric, Dennis Thompson, all of Oakvale, and Aaron Thompson, ofMonticello; a daughter, Penny Thompson, of Little Rock, Ark.; asister, Doris Ford, of Prentiss; her 26 grandchildren; and her 31great-grandchildren.
