Services for Houston Kees, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. Saturday,Sept. 5, at Siloam M.B. Church in Brookhaven with burial in thechurch cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 1 until 7 p.m. with family presentfrom 6 until 7 p.m. at Williams Mortuary.
Mr. Kees, 79, died Sept. 1, 2009, at his residence. He was bornin Lincoln County on Nov. 1, 1929, to Harry Kees Sr. and AudreyKelly Kees.
He was retired. He was a member of Siloam M.B. Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Herbert Lee; hisdaughters, Mary Ann Stewart and Valeria Shere; his sisters,Earnestine Kees, Carrie Mae Kees, Ollie Kees and Josie Harris; andhis brothers, Roscoe Kees, Louis Kees, Matthew Kees, Will Kees,Willie Kees, John Kees, Harry Kees Jr., Fred Kees and PaulKees.
Survivors are his wife, Carrie Kees, of Brookhaven; his sons,Sam Kees and wife, Debra, of Brookhaven, James Kees and wife,Wilehmia, of Kentwood, La., Vincent Kees, of McComb, Billy Allenand Bobby Allen, both of Brookhaven; his daughters, Ira JeanWheeler and husband, Tommie, of Crystal Springs, Joyice Lee Reddand husband, Vernice, of Brookhaven, Carolyn Brown and husband,Arnold, of Sontag, Edith Moore and husband, Tyrone, and AngelaMcDowell, all of Kingsland, Ga.; a brother, Alton Kees and wife,Pauline, of Brookhaven; a sister, Aldora Fells, of Brookhaven; his37 grandchildren; his 22 great-grandchildren; agreat-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, otherrelatives and friends.
