Enterprise tramples W. Lincoln

The Enterprise Fighting Yellow Jackets bounced back from itsheart-breaking 9-8 loss a week ago to the Bogue Chitto Bobcats byhanding the West Lincoln Bears a 49-18 whipping on Perry MillerField Friday night.
With the win, the Jackets improve to 1-1 and the Bears fell to1-1. Enterprise hosts Natchez Cathedral and West Lincoln invadesPelahatchie.
“Our kids were ready to play and show what they can do,” saidEnterprise head coach Wayne Rogers. “I’m glad to get the win. I wasalso proud that we managed to get our younger kids some playingtime.
“Our team speed was the main difference in the game. Now we mustget ready for next week’s game against Natchez Cathedral.”
Aaron Prather led the Jacket running game with 12 carries for118 yards and 2 touchdowns. Cody Brister rushed 8 times for 96yards and a pair of TDs. Following was Garrett Greer with 24 yardson 5 carries and a touchdown.
The Bears were led by running back Calvin Kees with 15 rushesfor 121 yards and 3 touchdowns.
“Enterprise just whipped our tails,” said West Lincoln headcoach Chris Calcote. “My guys just did not show up to play tonight.Now we must regroup.”
Prather scored a 6-yard touchdown at the 7:59 mark in the firstquarter as Lance Spring kicked the PAT for a 7-0 lead. Springkicked 7 straight extra points.
At the 1:54 mark, Kees scored the first Bear TD on a 1-yard runto cut the Jackets lead to 7-6.
With 36 seconds remaining, Prather broke loose for a 7-yard runfor the TD and pushed Enterprise’s lead to 14-6.
In the second quarter, quarterback Cody Brister scored a 24-yardtouchdown followed by Brad Prather for a 9-yard TD to give theJackets a 28-6 lead with 5:41 left.
The Bears punched in a 4-yard touchdown on a burst by Kees tocut the deficit to 28-12 with 2:16 remaining.
With 1:56 on the clock, Greer exploded for an 80-touchdown runand gave the Jackets a 35-12 lead going into the dressing room.
Brister got loose for a 6-yard touchdown at the 7:34 mark in thethird quarter to give the Jackets a 42-12 lead.
In the fourth quarter, Enterprise’s Matt King scored on an18-yard TD and gave the visitors a 49-12 advantage with 10:53remaining in the game.
West Lincoln wasn’t finished as Kees galloped in a 55-yardtouchdown to trim the Enterprise lead to 49-18 with 2:34 left toplay.
Defensively, Travis Leggett led Enterprise with 9 tackles. CodyWhite made 8 stops. Collecting 7 tackles each were Kevin Brizzardand Garrett Greer.
West Lincoln was led by Josh Reno with 9 tackles. Grant Rushingmade 6 stops.
