Harrell looking forward to Bogue Chitto’s season

BOGUE CHITTO – Jeremy Harrell is excited about the approachingbasketball season. Bogue Chitto’s new boys head basketball coachbelieves his Bobcats are loaded with talent and potential.

“I’m excited about the season,” said Harrell. “I have some greatathletes to work with.”

Harrell, 25, is a 2002 McComb High graduate. He playedbasketball for his father, Hilton Harrell, at McComb.

The younger Harrell graduated from Alcorn State University in2006, with a major in mass communications and broadcast journalism.He worked for WDAM television in Hattiesburg before coming to BogueChitto.

“I love it here at Bogue Chitto,” said Harrell. “The people areso nice. They have shown me some warm hospitality.”

Harrell’s Bobcats tip off their 2009-10 season Nov. 2, at MountOlive in a Classic Game. He is teaching World Geography andMississippi Studies at Bogue Chitto.

He replaces Curt Crain who coached Bogue Chitto for one seasonbefore taking a similar position at Vancleave.
