Services for Alton Jackson Sr., of Brookhaven, are 3 p.m.Saturday, Sept. 12, at Center Street Church of Christ in Brookhavenwith burial in Carver Heights Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 7 p.m. at R.E. TylerFuneral Home with family present from 6 until 7 p.m.

Mr. Jackson, 64, died Sept. 4, 2009, at his residence. He wasborn in Brookhaven on Oct. 26, 1944, to Dan Jackson and ClastineQuinn Jackson.

He was a graduate of Alexander High School and attended TougalooCollege in Jackson. He was a former police officer and firefighterfor the City of Brookhaven. Mr. Jackson retired from ArmstrongFlooring in Jackson. He was a member of St. Mark M.B. Church inBrookhaven.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his sisters, ThelmaPorter, Dorothy Smith and Helen Townsend.

Survivors are his ex-wife, Beverly Dillon Jackson, ofBrookhaven; his sons, Alton Jackson Jr., of Aurora, Ill., andAndregias Nutley, of Brookhaven; his daughters, Sharon Wilson,Sheila Jackson and Thelma Gayten, all of Brookhaven; a brother,Albert Jackson, of Jackson; a sister, Earline Williams, ofBrookhaven; his eight grandchildren; and his fourgreat-grandchildren.
