W. Lincoln sweeps Enterprise

Hannah Knouse fired in 18 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and made 4steals to spark the West Lincoln Lady Bears in a 56-29 win over thevisiting Enterprise Lady Yellow Jackets Tuesday night in Jack CaseGymnasium.

In the varsity boys game, the Bears dusted the Jackets 54-42,powered by Jay Case’s 14 points, 10 rebounds, 4 steals and 3assists.

West Lincoln girls (2-2) and boys (3-1) face Pisgah Thursday at4 p.m. and 5:30 respectively in the Bogue Chitto Tournament. BogueChitto hosts Mt. Olive at 7 and 8:30.

West Lincoln 56, Enterprise 29

Contributing to the West Lincoln girls win with 13 points, 2rebounds, 7 steals and 3 assists was guard Tatianna Marshall. KarliHerrington netted 11 points, grabbed 2 rebounds and had 3 assistsas they outscored Enterprise 32-10 in the second half.

“We played with more intensity in the second half,” said WestLincoln coach Lane Young. “We shot extremely well in the thirdquarter,” as his team avenged a 49-42 loss last week atEnterprise.

The Lady Jackets (2-2) were led by Caroleah Brister with 8points and 6 rebounds. Lacey Orr followed with 6 points, 9rebounds, 2 steals and 4 assists.

“We have to learn to play a better third quarter and find WestLincoln three-point shooters better,” said Enterprise girls coachJill Nations. The Lady Bears sacked 7 treys.

West Lincoln 54, Enterprise 42

The West Lincoln boys (3-1) got added support from Jared Casewith 11 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 6 assists. Scoring 12points and pulling down 6 rebounds was Chad Herring. BrandonRobinson followed with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 2assists. Tops off the backboards was Calvin Kees pulled down 10rebounds.

“Our first half was sloppy,” said Young. “The second half, wegot some steals and the shots went in. We did not protect the ballthe first four minutes.”

The Jackets (1-3) were led by Riko Palomarez with 17 points, 8rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists. Taylor Everett and Austin Everettnetted 7 points apiece.

“We could not inbounds, shoot and control the ball,” saidEnterprise coach John Knight. “We’ve got to do better to wingames.”

Junior high play

The West Lincoln girls rolled past Enterprise 17-12. PeytonMullins and Bentley Sills led with 4 points apiece.

The Lady Jackets got 4 points each from Markie Ann Case andJessica Wilson.

The Bears mauled the Jackets 37-23. West Lincoln got 12 pointsfrom Duane Marshall and 10 from Sam Bivens.

Tanner Allen netted 9 points and Jackson Cole finished with8.
