Services for Mary Ruth Smith, of Natchez, are 1 p.m. Friday,Nov. 20, at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with burial inLucien Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral onUnion Street.

Mrs. Smith, 76, died Nov. 15, 2009, at Natchez Regional MedicalCenter. She was born in Lucien on April 20, 1933, to Judd EldridgePickering and Rhoda Smith Pickering.

She was an in-home nurse for Professional Sitters Inc. for 30years. She was a member of Lucien Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her husband, Willie Alfred Smith, of Natchez; ason, Alfred R. Smith, of Natchez; a daughter, Marilyn Baroni, ofMetairie, La.; her brothers, James Pickering, J.E. Pickering, bothof Brookhaven, and Eugene Pickering, of Jackson; a sister, MarthaSykes, of Allen, Texas; her four grandchildren, Jonathan Baroni,Phillip Baroni, Amber Smith and Alan Smith; a great-grandchild, AliMcNally; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers are Phillip Baroni, Jonathan Baroni, Keith “Buzz”Smith, Bobby Smith, Ralph Smith and C.P. Cavin.
