Services for Leon M. Carr, of Monticello, were 10 a.m. Friday,Nov. 20, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello with burial inAntioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello.

Mr. Carr, 67, died Nov. 17, 2009, at Forrest General Hospital inHattiesburg. He was born in Lawrence County on March 27, 1942, toJames Allen Carr and Arline Townsend Carr.

He was a retired mechanic. His family said he could diagnoseengine problems just by listening. He loved to joke around and makepeople laugh. He had a heart of gold and dearly loved his familyand friends. Mr. Carr was proud of his heritage and would tell allthat if you didn’t know any Carrs you were really missing out.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, MarilynCarr Butler; and three brothers, Turner, James and J.D. Carr.

Survivors are his sons, Tony Carr, of Jayess, Steven Carr, ofBeeville, Texas, and Wayne Carr, of Seminary; his daughters, ReginaStrong, of Mt. Olive, Amanda Carr, of Jayess, Deborah Carr, ofMendenhall; a brother, Jack Reid, of Houston, Texas; and a sister,Elaine Boyd, of McComb.

Pallbearers were Howard Butler Jr., Justin Mahaffey, BrianReeves, Ronnie Matheing, Stacy Printer and Billy Printer.

Honorary pallbearers were Timothy Carr, Michael Cutrer and ClayRaborn.
