Camper fire injures one

A Lincoln County woman is in the intensive care unit at RiverOaks Hospital in Flowood after sustaining burns in a camper firethat took place Tuesday around lunch time.
Hospital personnel said Dana Tyler, age unknown, of 1211Arlington Road, went to King’s Daughters Medical Center by personalvehicle before being taken to the ICU at River Oaks with burns toher head and face.
Family members on the scene of the fire said she had sustainedburns to her hair. Boyfriend Dennis Branning said Wednesday thatshe’s doing well.
“She’s fine, I think they’re going to let her go home today,” hesaid.
Witnesses said Tyler was inside a camper, which had been parkedon her family’s land on Arlington Road for about a week whenrepairs caused a problem with a gas stove on the camper. Tyler wasburned, but was pulled from the camper by family members.
Zetus and Hog Chain volunteer fire departments had personnel onscene shortly to extinguish the fire. Fire department officialssaid Tyler had left the scene by personal vehicle before the firetrucks arrived.
The camper sustained medium damage.
