Services for Doreatha B. Ailes, of Wesson, are 11 a.m. Saturday,Dec. 19, at Old St. John M.B. Church in Brookhaven with burial inthe St. John Cemetery in Wesson.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 8 p.m. at R.E. TylerFuneral Home in Brookhaven with family present from 7 until 8p.m.

Evangelist Ailes, 75, died Dec. 14, 2009, at Pine Crest GuestHome in Hazlehurst. She was born in Wesson on Dec. 24, 1933, to JoeByrd and Carrie Gilmore Byrd.

She was a former nurses aide for Home Health. She was a memberof Old St. John M.B. Church. She was also member of their Mother’sBoard, choir and Mission Society.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, EnochAiles; a son, Baby Ailes; a daughter, Linda Faye Ailes; herbrothers, the Revs. Bobby Byrd and Ernest Byrd and Joe Parker Byrd;a sister, Selma Quarles; and a grandchild.

Survivors are her sons, Thomas Ailes, of Wesson, James EdwardAiles, of Wichita, Kan., and Enoch Ailes Jr., of Indianola; herdaughters, Carrie Threadgill, of Columbus, Ohio, Theresa Afanadorand Monica Grinstead, both of Wesson; her brothers, Jimmie Byrd, ofWesson, the Rev. Bennie Byrd, of Wichita, and Willie Byrd, ofSacramento, Calif.; a sister, Edna Harris, of Jackson; her eightgrandchildren; and her seven great-grandchildren.
