Harold ‘Sonny’ Daniel Allgood Jr.

Services for Harold “Sonny” Daniel Allgood Jr., of Natchez, are10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at Cliff Temple Baptist Church withburial in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin County.The Rev. Russell Wagoner will officiate. Laird Funeral Home inNatchez is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Allgood, 59, died Dec. 16, 2009, at Natchez Regional MedicalCenter in Natchez. He was born in Lincoln County on Jan. 21, 1950,to Harold Daniel Allgood Sr. and Cleo Louise Crane Allgood.

Survivors are his parents, Harold and Cleo Allgood; his wife,Thelma Allgood; his daughters, Elizabeth Freeman and husband, Curt,Danielle Russell and husband, Jason, all of Natchez; a brother,Henry Allgood and wife, Deanne, of Brookhaven; his sisters, JudySmith and husband, Wayne, and Theresa Ballard and husband, Henry;his six grandchildren, Chelsea Freeman, Natalie Russell, AllisonFreeman, Kathryn Freeman, Hannah Russell and Carrie Russell; and anumber of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Pallbearers are his nephews and brothers-in-law.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Cliff Temple BaptistChurch.

Kenneth ‘Man’ Anderson

Services for Kenneth “Man” Anderson, of Smithdale, are 11 a.m.Saturday, Dec. 19, at Rosehill M.B. Church in Rosehill in FranklinCounty with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 5 p.m. at Marshall FuneralHome in Bude and Saturday from 9 until 11 a.m. at the church.

Mr. Anderson, 55, died Dec. 11, 2009, at the University ofMississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born in FranklinCounty on Jan. 19, 1954, to Squire and Eddye Lee Anderson.

He worked for Delta Airlines for 30-plus years.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and a sister, LorraineMarie Anderson.

Survivors are his wife, Gazetta Anderson, of Bedford, Texas; hissisters, Illine Lewis, of Waukegan, Ill., and Joann Marsalis, ofMcComb; his brothers, Wallace Anderson, Percy Anderson and WillieJames Anderson, all of Smithdale; his two uncles; and a host ofnieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Rev. Kelvin Lynn Cooper

Services for the Rev. Kelvin Lynn Cooper, of Memphis, Tenn.,formerly of Brookhaven, are noon Monday, Dec. 21, at Bethel AMEChurch in Brookhaven with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery inBrookhaven. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

The Rev. Cooper, 38, died Dec. 15, 2009, at Regional MedicalCenter in Memphis, Tenn. He was born in Jackson on Feb. 22, 1971,to Larry Michael Cooper and Margaret Nelson Franklin.

He was a 1991 graduate of Brookhaven High School and AlabamaState University. He was received his ministerial training at SelmaUniversity in Selma, Ala. The Rev. Cooper was pastor of Trinity AMEChurch in West Point. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alphafraternity. He was a member of Bethel AME Church in Brookhaven.

Survivors are his mother, Margaret Franklin, of Brookhaven; hisfather, Larry Michael Cooper and wife, Eloise, of Brookhaven; hisstepfather, Carlos Mathis, of Brookhaven; his wife, La’Shawn GipsonCooper, of Memphis; a son, Aaron Devon Cooper, of Brookhaven; hisbrothers, Larry Cooper Jr., Timothy Cooper and wife, Ramondra, allof Brookhaven, the Rev. John Jenkins Hawkins

Services for John Jenkins Hawkins, of Brookhaven, were 10 a.m.Friday, Dec. 18, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive was incharge of arrangements.

Mr. Hawkins, 68, died Dec. 16, 2009, at his residence. He wasborn in Liberty on May 24, 1941, to John Hollis Hawkins and ElsieEarline Ewell Hawkins.

He was a retired factory mechanic. He was a member of Mt. MoriahBaptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and a brother, RobertHawkins.

Survivors are his wife, Jo Ann Hawkins, of Brookhaven; hisdaughters, Patricia Boyte and husband, Tim, and Alice Faye Davisand husband, Ronnie, all of Brookhaven; a brother, Roy EltonHawkins and wife, Charlotte Ann, of Meadville; his fourgrandchildren, Neal Boyte and wife, Lindsey, Jo Ellen Boyte,Danielle Davis and Zack Davis and wife, Amanda; his fourgreat-grandchildren, Klayre Davis, Christian Boyte, Easton Boyteand Peyton Miller; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Wesley Craig Jackson

Services for Wesley Craig Jackson, of Wesson, are 2 p.m.Saturday, Dec. 19, at Sylvarena Baptist Church in Wesson withburial in the church cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Services inHazlehurst is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jackson, 29, died Dec. 16, 2009, in Copiah County.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Wesson. He was a memberof Sylvarena Baptist Church. He attended school at WessonAttendance Center. Mr. Jackson was an avid sportsman andoutdoorsman and he loved riding horses and roping.

Survivors are his parents, Craig and Denise Jackson, of Wesson;his brothers, Clayton Jackson, Nathan Jackson and Brady Jackson,all of Wesson; his maternal grandparents, Buddy and Alice Muirhead,of Searcy, Ark.; a paternal grandmother, Jeanette Jackson, ofWesson; his aunts and uncles, Lisa and Stan Valentine, Cris andCrystal Muirhead, all of Searcy, Kyle Jackson and Kurt Jackson andwife, Lisa, all of Wesson; his cousins, Megan and Mandy Valentine,of Searcy, Shane and Seth Jackson and Brodie Jackson, all ofWesson.

Mrs. Montgomery, 97, died Dec. 17, 2009, at Indywood Glen inGreenwood. She was born on Sept. 11, 1912, to Charles and NoraGee.

Survivors are her sons, Charles Montgomery Sr. and his wife,Margaret, of Carrollton, and William Montgomery Jr. and his wife,Bettye, of McCarley; her grandchildren, Ellen Hey and husband,David, Andy Montgomery and wife, Nancye, Charlie Montgomery Jr.,Billy Montgomery and wife, Marcie, and Wally Montgomery and wife,Ann; her great-grandchildren, Michelle Hodges and husband,Channing, C.J. Timothy Craig ‘Tim’ Sasser

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8a.m. until 2 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive.

Mr. Sasser, 49, died Dec. 16, 2009, at his residence. He wasborn in Brookhaven on Aug. 24, 1960, to James W. “Billy” Sasser Sr.and Charlene Herrin Sasser.

Mr. Sasser was a self-employed petroleum consultant withNewfield Productions of McAlester, Okla. He also worked throughStokes-Spiehler, of Lafayette, La., and was also the owner/operatorof Oilfield Finest 601 Hands. He was a member of New HeightsBaptist Church. He was a graduate of Bogue Chitto AttendanceCenter, Class of 1978. He was a hard worker and enjoyed cattlefarming and hay bailing. He was a good father and provider for hisfamily as well as enjoyed community service and mission work.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Cassie and IreneHerrin, Vivian A. “Pistol” Sasser and Dorothy McClelland Sasser,Robert and Hazel Inez Bryant, John P. Nixon and Warren and BessieLou Moak; his uncles, Ray Sasser and Pat Herrin; his aunts, ShirleyP. Wallace and Louise Cooksey.

Survivors are his parents, James W. “Billy” Sasser Sr. andCharlene Herrin Sasser, of Bogue Chitto; his wife, Kitty MoakSasser, of Summit; his daughters, Ashley Sasser and Hali Sasser,both of Summit; his brothers, Michael Sasser Sr. and wife, Sharon,and Billy Sasser Jr., all of Bogue Chitto; his nieces and nephews,Michael Sasser Jr. and wife, Wendy, Anna Sasser, Amber Thomas,Ginger Sasser, Natalie Sasser, Kaleb Hart, Kelby Hart, Drew Moakand Sykes Moak; his four great nieces and great nephews; hisbrothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kevin and Betti Hart, ofSummit, and Bobby and Gerre Moak, of Bogue Chitto; and hisfather-in-law and mother-in-law, Monette and Peggie Moak, of BogueChitto.

Mrs. Smith, 77, died Dec. 17, 2009, at Brook Manor inBrookhaven. She was born in Converse, La., on Dec. 23, 1931, toReuben Dixon and Annie May Lee Dixon.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Macedonia BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her husband, Marvin R. Smith, of Brookhaven; hersons, Ronald A.
