Willie Faye Smith

Services for Willie Faye Smith, of Brookhaven, were 1 p.m.Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on NatchezDrive with burial in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery inBrookhaven.

Mrs. Smith, 80, died Dec. 27, 2009, at Haven Hall Health CareCenter in Brookhaven. She was born in Laurel on Oct. 4, 1929, toGeorge Jones and Ester Ainsworth Jones.

She was a homemaker and of Baptist faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, OscarOthel Smith.

Survivors are her sons, Caroll Wilson and wife, Shirley, ofNatchez, and Teddie Smith, of Brookhaven; a sister, Merle Fall, ofRidgeland; a sister-in-law, Jeannette Jones, of Hurley; her sixgrandchildren; and her six great-grandchildren; and host nieces andnephews.

The Rev. John H. Thomas

Services for the Rev. John H. Thomas, of Bogue Chitto, are 11a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapelin Brookhaven with burial in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemeteryin Brookhaven.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

The Rev. Thomas, 84, died Dec. 27, 2009, at St. Dominic-JacksonMemorial Hospital in Jackson. He was born on Dec. 6, 1925, to CleveThomas and Evie Schilling Thomas Crain.

He was a retired minister and teacher. He served as a pastor inMississippi, Louisiana and Alabama for 43 years. The Rev. Thomasalso served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a memberof Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Cleve Thomas and EvieSchilling Thomas Crain; his three brothers; his three sisters; anda grandson, Kaleb Moak.

Survivors are his wife, Nellie B. Thomas; a son, Darryl Thomasand wife, Lorraine, of Bogue Chitto; a daughter, Theresa Livingstonand husband, John, of Summit; a brother, George Thomas and wife,Janice, of Lucas, Texas; his two grandchildren, Justin Thomas, ofBogue Chitto, and Kelly Moak, of Biloxi; his three grandchildren,Loren Thomas and Brandon Thomas, of Bogue Chitto, and Makayla Moak,of Batesville, Ark.; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
