Hattie Goodwin Dixon

Graveside services for Hattie Goodwin Dixon, of Minneapolis,Minn., formerly of Brookhaven, are 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, atNew Hope Church Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Tuesday from 1 until 7 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.

Mrs. Dixon, 64, died Dec. 21, 2009, in Minneapolis. She was bornin Chicago, Ill., on Feb. 28, 1945, to Charlie Moses Goodwin andTheolia Mae Goodwin.

She was a graduate of Progress High School.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and a brother, ThomasLee Goodwin.

Survivors are her husband, Ronald Dixon, of Milwaukee, Wis.; hersons, Ronald Dixon Jr., Ray Dixon and Claude “Mack” Dixon, all ofMilwaukee; her daughters, Kathleen Gayten, of Richmond, Va., AliceRichardson, of Bogue Chitto, and Lisa Dixon, of Minneapolis; herbrothers, Charlie Goodwin, of Chicago, Aldophis Goodwin, of Boston,Mass., Zannie “Butch” Goodwin, Edward Goodwin and Bobby Goodwin,all of Brookhaven; her 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; andher many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Everett Earl Foster

Services for Everett Earl Foster, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel inBrookhaven with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation is Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Foster, 87, died Jan. 9, 2010, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter in Brookhaven. He was born on April 11, 1922, to JamesMonroe Foster and Jessie Allie Morris Foster.

He was an agency manager for Lincoln County’s Farm Bureau. Hewas a member of Central Baptist Church where he served as a deaconfor more than 40 years. Mr. Foster also served as a past presidentfor the Brookhaven Exchange Club. He was a World War II veteran whoalso served in the U.S. Navy during the Philippine campaign and thePacific campaign.

Preceding him in death were his parents, James Monroe Foster andJessie Allie Morris Foster; his brothers, Grady, J.M. and DeltonFoster; and his sisters, Eunice Hall, Audrey Hutson, Elsie RaySmith and Virginia Sandifer.

Survivors are his wife, Winifred Smith Foster; his sons, ThomasL. Foster Sr., of Brookhaven, and William Gary Foster and wife, JoAnn, of Russellville, Ark.; his brothers, Paul Foster and ClaytonFoster, both of Natchez; a sister, Essie Myers, of Brookhaven; hissix grandchildren, Kristi Parks, Amy Beard, Thomas L. Foster Jr.,Celisa Peltz, Jamie Foster and James “Jay” Foster; his eightgreat-grandchildren, Brandon Wilson, Ashley Wilson, Sarah Wilson,Caleb Jackson Foster, Abby Beard, Victoria Ballard, Landon Peltzand Natalie Peltz.

Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church’s BuildingFund.

Joseph M. Rector III

Services for Joseph M. Rector III, of Brookhaven, will be heldat a later date. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Rector, 74, died Jan. 7, 2010, at his residence. He was bornon March 26, 1935, to Joseph M. Rector Jr. and Emma JonesRector.

He was a truck driver. Mr. Rector served with the U.S. Air Forceduring the Korean War. He was a member of the Episcopal Church ofthe Redeemer in Brookhaven.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph M. Rector Jr.and Emma Jones Rector; a sister, Anna Fossa; and a nephew.

Survivors are his wife, Sarah A. Rector; his sons, Joseph M.Rector IV and wife, Gina, of Midland Park, N.J., Donald C. Rectorand wife, Rhonda, of Charlotte, N.C., and John M. Rector and wife,Robin, of Petal; his six grandchildren, Joey Rector, Justin Rector,Michael Rector, Kara Rector, Jonathon Rector and Sarah Rector; anda niece.
