Marilyn M. Cotton

Services for Marilyn M. Cotton, of Brookhaven, are 4 p.m.Sunday, Jan. 17, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on Natchez Drivewith burial in Easthaven Cemetery.

Mrs. Cotton, 55, died Jan. 15, 2010, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center. She was born in Dublin on April 3, 1954,to Otis D. Higginbotham and Eunice Kiger Higginbotham.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of God.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her sister,Patricia Berry.

Survivors are her son, Samuel Higginbotham and wife, Rachael, ofChesapeake, Va.; her sisters, Martha Grice, of Pearl, Carol Boyteand Sue Barnett, both of Brookhaven, and Wanda Rowe, of Midland,Texas; her grandchildren, Austin, Samuel Jr., Christen, Elijah andLevi Higginbotham; and her companion of 11 years, Lee Allen, ofBrookhaven.

Charles Wayne Smith

Services for Charles Wayne Smith, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Sunday, Jan. 17, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on Natchez Drivewith burial in Riverwood Memorial Park.

Mr. Smith, 62, died Jan. 15, 2010, at his residence. He was bornin Hazlehurst on Feb. 5, 1947, to Grady Smith and Myrtle MozelleWeathersby Smith.

He was an offshore worker and a member of the Red Star Ward ofthe Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a Vietnamveteran.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, JoyceCleckler Smith; one brother; and one sister.

Survivors are his sons, Grady Charles Smith and wife, Shelia,Tony Wayne Smith and wife, Jeannie, and Ryan Jason Smith and wife,Lorene, all of Brookhaven; six brothers; six sisters; 11grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
