Services for Willie “Bill” Brooks Sr., of Monticello, are 2p.m., Saturday, Jan. 23, at Bethel Baptist Church in Monticellowith burial in New Hebron City Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home inMonticello is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of theservice at the church.

Mr. Brooks, 83, died Jan. 20, 2010, at St. Dominic-JacksonMemorial Hospital in Jackson. He was born in Winnsboro, La., on May17, 1926, to Willie Lee Brooks Sr. and Oma Rae Williams.

He was a retired master mechanic in construction work. He was aU.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a Mason and a Shriner atthe New Hebron Lodge. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, HappyRaymond Brooks; his sisters, Gwendolyn Jeamaine Brooks Petti andPatrica Ann Brooks Picou; his grandson, Wesley Dale Canterberry;and his granddaughter, Laura Jeamaine Fuller Duke.

Survivors are his wife, Anna Mary Mascaro Brooks, of Monticello;his sons, Willie Lee “Bill” Brooks and Thomas David Brooks, both ofWesson, Dennis Andrew Brooks, of Monticello, and Jeffery WayneBrooks, of Ruth; his daughters, Melanie Jeanine Brooks Fuller, ofNew Hebron, and Anna Ruth Brooks Canterberry, of Monticello; hisbrother, Jerry Andrew Brooks, of Silver Creek; his sister, MaryMarguerite Brooks Atkinsson, of New Hebron; and his 18grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
