Daisy Bonnell Rutland Reid of Jayess, died in a motor vehicleaccident on Jan. 25, 2010. A lifelong resident of Lawrence County,she was born Aug. 5, 1926, to Colon L. Thames and Willie BelleLambert Thames.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis DexterRutland; her parents; stepmother, Wadie Lambert Thames; brothers,Willie C. Thames, Willis Earl Thames; sister, Patsy Ruth ThamesMcClendon; son, Jimmy Ray Reid; granddaughter, Regina Reid Lott;and grandson, Morgan Devenice Ikner.

Survivors include husband, Webster Ray Reid; daughters, LindaAnn Rutland Ikner and husband Clint of Jayess; son, Danny Joe Reidand wife Esther of Jayess; daughter, Bobbie Ratcliff and husbandDonald of Jayess; daughter, Lynda Carpenter of Jayess; and son,Steve Reid and wife Kathy of Atmore, Ala.; her sisters, Anne MerlePrice of Foxworth, Betty Jo Russell of Lincoln County, and ColeneHorn and husband Ed of Missouri; and her 17 grandchildren, 18great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was a homemaker. She served for many years as Sunday schoolsuperintendent at Providence Baptist Church in Jayess. The lateryears of her life, Powell’s Grove Pentecostal in Jayess was herhome church.

Her family and friends will always remember the love she showedto all, the warm welcome, good food she prepared daily, and concernfor others she placed next to her love for her Savior.

Services are 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28 at Powell’s GrovePentecostal Church with burial in Providence Baptist ChurchCemetery. Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday at the church beginning at 5 p.m.
