William Earl Catt

Services for William Earl Catt, of Monticello, are 3 p.m.Wednesday, Jan. 27, at New Hope Baptist Church in Monticello withburial in the church cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello isin charge of arrangements.

Mr. Catt, 89, died Jan. 26, 2010, at his residence. He was bornin Monticello on Jan. 28, 1920, to John Lance Catt and Nora RutlandCatt.

He was a retired carpenter and a World War II veteran of theU.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars,Shriners and the Scottish Rite. He was a member of New Hope BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers; andfour sisters.

Survivors are his wife, Irene Davis Catt of Monticello; his son,Randy Earl Catt and wife Jamie, of Monticello.

Homer Coleman

Services for Homer Coleman, of Summit, are 11 a.m. Friday, Jan.29, at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb. Burial with militaryhonors will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lincoln County.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home,and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mr. Coleman, 86, died Jan. 25, 2010, at the Mississippi StateVeterans Home in Jackson. He was born on Feb. 6, 1923 in Meadville,to Solomon and Janie Freeman Coleman.

He was a retired farmer and a World War II veteran of the U.S.Army. He was a member of Tangipahoa Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, OliverColeman; and his sisters, Irene Cloy and Mary Whittington.

Survivors are his wife, Gladys Burns Coleman of Summit; hissons, Jack Wayne Coleman of Summit, and Michael Anthony Coleman ofPalestine, Texas; his daughter, Terry Killingsworth of Summit; fivegrandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces andnephews.

Daisy Bonnell RutlandReid

Daisy Bonnell Rutland Reid of Jayess, died in a motor vehicleaccident on Jan. 25, 2010. A lifelong resident of Lawrence County,she was born Aug. 5, 1926, to Colon L. Thames and Willie BelleLambert Thames.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis DexterRutland; her parents; stepmother, Wadie Lambert Thames; brothers,Willie C. Thames, Willis Earl Thames; sister, Patsy Ruth ThamesMcClendon; son, Jimmy Ray Reid; granddaughter, Regina Reid Lott;and grandson, Morgan Devenice Ikner.

Survivors include husband, Webster Ray Reid; daughters, LindaAnn Rutland Ikner and husband Clint of Jayess; son, Danny Joe Reidand wife Esther of Jayess; daughter, Bobbie Ratcliff and husbandDonald of Jayess; daughter, Lynda Carpenter of Jayess; and son,Steve Reid and wife Kathy of Atmore, Ala.; her sisters, Anne MerlePrice of Foxworth, Betty Jo Russell of Lincoln County, and ColeneHorn and husband Ed of Missouri; and her 17 grandchildren, 18great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was a homemaker. She served for many years as Sunday schoolsuperintendent at Providence Baptist Church in Jayess. The lateryears of her life, Powell’s Grove Pentecostal in Jayess was herhome church.

Her family and friends will always remember the love she showedto all, the warm welcome, good food she prepared daily, and concernfor others she placed next to her love for her Savior.

Services are 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28 at Powell’s GrovePentecostal Church with burial in Providence Baptist ChurchCemetery. Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday at the church beginning at 5 p.m.

Tommy Sims

A memorial service for Tommy Sims, of Hazlehurst, will be heldat 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 29, at R.E. Tyler Funeral Home.

Mr. Sims, 55, died Jan. 23, 2010, at Hospice Ministries inRidgeland. He was born in Hazlehurst on Jan. 16, 1955, to MaryAllen Sims.

He was a carpenter.

Preceding him in death were his mother and his brother, BillyRay Sims.

Survivors are his wife, Linda Gilmore Sims, of Hazlehurst; hisson, Eric Gilmore, of New Orleans, La.; and one grandchild.
